Wondfo Ovulation Test Kit

DH and I have been TTC for 6 months with no luck.  Unfortunately, I've only been charting my cycle lengths since I had my implanon removed in order to TTC.  Cycle lengths have been somewhat inconsistent.  Sometimes it's 26 days, sometimes 30.  Average is 28.  DH is a mariner so he works for 3 wks and then is home for 3wks.  Makes it more difficult to time things right for fertile days since he is only here half of the time.  We have decided to start OPKs in order to maximize our...efforts.  I picked up 50 Wondfo ovulation strips.  Has anyone else used this brand?  What did you think?  I've been reading that you should start OPK tests on cycle day 10 and to not use FMU.  Agree?  Also, would you take them twice a day?  And should I test at the same times each day?  Anyway, DH and I have decided that since he is away a lot and will miss many firsts when we (hopefully!) have a little one I am only going to take HPTs when he is home so we can find out together.  AF is due around the 16th... fingers crossed she doesn't show, though I don't feel any pregnancy type symptoms.  Thanks for the info!!!

Are you temping? That is the only guaranteed way to confirm ovulation. OPKs are great at predicting, but temping confirms it actually happened. With that being said, most people on here will agree Wondfo are the preferred brand around here. They are usually accurate and cheap! There should be instructions in the package telling you when to start testing but with the average cycle length of 28 days I believe day 10 is what is recommended. It is advised not to use FMU (although my coworker friend did and got KU on cycle 2 without temping). Some ladies on here use them more than once a day, it's a personal preference. We discourage symptom spotting as it will drive you crazy. Best of luck!

I just started temping.  I found the Glow app which makes charting BBT simple.  I liked the idea of OPKs BECAUSE they give you a warning BEFORE O, important when DH is only home 50% of the time.  I'll do some more reading on the specifics of BBT.  Thanks for the reminder, and the luck!

Yes I've used wondfos. I would do one per day in the afternoon (or when I got home from work). If I was having signs of impending ovulation (i.e., EWCM) sometimes I would do them twice per day. But my cycles are much longer than yours (35-40 days) so I hated using them because I'd use up half the pack before O.

I really like Wondfos. They're accurate and very cheap which is a plus considering how many various pee sticks I go through each month.

Since you have fairly normal and fairly short cycles, starting OPKs at CD 10 sounds like a pretty safe bet. I'd suggest testing around 2pm-9pm if possible. I also suggest testing twice a day (like perhaps 1pm and 9pm) once you start noticing your OPKs are getting darker. This is just so you don't miss your LH surge since some women have a surge that only lasts for 12 hours. If you find out you're someone who typically has a longer surge you can always go back to testing once a day for future cycles.

Wondfos are great! PPs gave great advice already about when to test. I usually had a set time to test and then I would randomly test again if I felt like it (we're taking a NTNP break right now so I'm not currently testing). Just make sure you order from an actual seller when you buy them, there are some fake ones out there. They have a list of reputable sellers on their website. It's been discussed on the boards a few times if you want to search it. I just go off their site in case a new one is added. Good luck to you!

I agree with everyone else. I start mine on CD8 because I ovulate pretty early. I usually use them once a day in the afternoon until they start getting darker (or it's getting close to my predicted O day), then twice a day. I find, for me, I don't get a complete positive so I just mark the day they are the darkest.

Huge fan.  I don't do it at the same time, but shoot for afternoon/evening. I have PCOS which can make the results a little less reliable, but for the price, I like having some clue as to what is going on.  I am not temping yet, but will start in the next month or two if nothing happens.

I use Wondfos and clear blue digital because I have multiple LH surges throughout my cycles. They're cheap and with my long cycles I can use more without spending all my money on CBD. Best time to test is afternoon, I don't usually get a line of I use FMU, but they're definitely worth it:

Agree with all the above. The only thing I'll add is that you might have to experiment to find out what works best for you. I used to test in the afternoon like they recommend and got darker lines but not a full positive. I drink a ton of tea at work so I wondered if my urine was too dilute so I tried second morning urine this month, around 8:30-9 am and got an obvious positive.

Opks can be tricky to get right so they should just be one tool in your tool belt. I usually get ewcm and cramps the day before my opk turns. They're all subtle hints but if you learn to put all the pieces together you can actually predict o pretty accurately!

Ditto what others said.  I personally only use them once a day after work and I've had no problem getting a clear positive.  (I'm lazy and I don't want to test at work.)

My hub and i tried for 8 months using wondfos. In my opinion, they are tough to read (meaning the lines are never a clear "yes or no") and more trouble than they are worth. I finally caved in and bought a paxk of clear blue opk. And it was no doubt clear the day I ovulated! And we just so happened to get pregnant on that cycle! Just my experience!

I second the difficulty with wondfo. I used them exclusively last cycle and never got a clear positive but I know I did O based on temps. I tested twice a day too. This cycle I plan to test with at least two brands. Wondfo's are great for the price however.
