Migraine help?

Hi everyone. I'm very nervous tonight. I had a miscarriage last October and finally after a year again of trying on our own, we went to a fertility doctor and I got pregnant first try with insemination. We heard the baby's heartbeat twice and my HCG was perfect. I am now 8 1/2 weeks pregnant. I was very prone to migraines before the pregnancy and until yesterday had not gotten one. Yesterday and today I've had one constantly. I took Tylenol and tried my usual hot shower and head heating pad but they keep recurring. Unfortunately I read the internet where it said this could be a possible sign of the baby having stopped growing. Has anyone experienced this? I'm going for an ultrasound in the morning but I'm extremely nervous. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Migraine help?

  • I have never heard that it is a sign the baby stopped growing. I have been dealing with migraines for the last two weeks so I hope that's not true! I use the heat, take Tylenol and put peppermint oil on my temples. It's miserable. I feel your pain (literally). Keep us posted on the US tmrw - I'm sure everything will be fine!

  • Thank you, I hope so too. I appreciate the tips.
  • Many women have migraines during pregnancy due to shifting hormones. I don't think its a sign of baby stoppig growing. Fire Dr. Google he sucks. You can find a website supporting any ancedote.
  • Yes the internet is a dangerous place :( I just remember with my miscarriage last year I had a severe migraine while going through it, but I'm not having any cramps or bleeding this time luckily. The only thing I've noticed is that my breasts have not been sore the past few days.
  • Well I sure hope that's just Dr Google's false information. I had a migraine the past three nights in a row. Everything I read says it's hormones and typical especially during really pregnancy. I used a heating pad on my head, had DH gives my neck and head a massage, and tried to sleep it off. Sometimes eating a meal helped too. Keep us posted!
  • Thank you, I will :) I appreciate everyone's support so much.
  • I usually wet a cloth for my forehead as for me, cold helps numb the pain best! Hope you feel better soon.
  • Also try a bit of caffeine!
