31 weeks tomorrow!  Not much new here. Still eating all of the things, feeling huge, struggling to sleep although I'm tired all the time.  I have a prenatal massage tomorrow, and I can't wait!  Next app't (with u/s!) is in a week.

@suchaglencoco you had asked last week if DD1 is ready for a little sister.  She is 15 months and although she babbles a lot, she doesn't have words yet (except "uh-oh!" when she drops or throws things)...so we have told her that her baby sister is growing in my tummy, and we talk about it to her a lot, but I don't think she has any concept of it yet.  It will be interesting to see how she reacts!

QOTW: Most helpful advice was sort of meta-advice: when you get unsolicited and unwanted advice, just smile and say "Thank you so much!" while you're tuning the person out entirely.  Heh.

I was just about to come on and do a checkin- so thank you for doing it already!

We had our "long appointment" Thursday with NST, Ultrasound and checkin with the doctor. Everything looked good. My belly measured 38 weeks and not 32 weeks, which I suppose is a good thing with twins.
Had our "short appointment" today which was only supposed to be a NST. Well, after 2 hours of them listening to the heartbeats with 2 medical assistants and one RN signing off that they were indeed listening to both heartbeats, the Dr. on the floor didn't believe them. Their heartbeats are always pretty close in bpm. So they squeezed me in for an ultrasound. Both had great heartbeats and fluid but little girl wasn't moving a lot so the tech had me change positions to try and get her moving. I was a little out of sorts but she started kicking her brother in the face right away, thank goodness.
We have our "long appointment" Thursday again. I always dread them the morning of but it's actually a nice reassurance that they are doing well.

Wednesday I am taking my mom up to the hospital to show her how to get there and how to get to labor and delivery. It's apparently "too complicated" for her to follow directions we gave her. It's literally getting off an interstate and one right turn, then 3 minutes of driving before you see this HUGE hospital. Haha. There is a parking garage immediately located on the right when you pull in and you walk across the street, go inside, and they have a desk directing you to elevators off to the left. It's honestly that simple but hey, she said she'll take me to lunch afterwards and help me pick out our Christmas gifts for the 7 nieces and nephews we have. I'm looking forward to getting shopping started and finished! The sooner the better with these babies coming on in.

QOTW- My SIL has actually been pretty good about giving me pre advice on breast feeding as she had her first a couple of months ago. She told me to just continually ask question to the specialist while there and to try and keep myself nice and hydrated. Also, to ask for help whenever it's offered.
The advice I am finding the least helpful is "get your sleep now while you can" always followed by a laugh. Yes, I get it. I will have two babies that need me, but one cannot bank sleep!

@kelley421, have you started doing NSTs yet?

@marnief- I didn't realize how little DD is! That is a great age and I'm sure it'll be a handful for you at first!

    Hello!

Had an appointment on Friday and got my flying approval! So leave in the weekend.

Baby is still breech- footling I think they called it so he is basically standing in there- kind of!

Doc was pretty negative about the possibility of him turning so I jags been hanging and walking and doing everything I can find to try and get this baby the right way round. It is very important to me to not have a c section, always has been. So hearing that news was disheartening but I still have time!!!

The best advice and it want quite advice but a friend who has a baby a few months old said ignore what people say! She said for example everyone kept saying when she was talking about not being able to sleep in her 3 led trimester 'wait till the baby comes'- but untimely she slept so much better once the baby was here and she was no longer pregnant and uncomfortable. That little nugget is what gets me through my insomnia nights! I'm lucky to sleep 4 hrs a night I'm just so uncomfortable. I have accepted it and have turned my late night sessions into productive time!

I can't imagine how it feels to have two in there!!! You are my hero! @suchaglencoco

@somewhereinafrica, I'm sorry little one is feet first! I'm sure that's frustrating.
I didn't care much one way or the other on vaginal or c section. I just wanted both out safely, but after we took our labor and delivery class and saw how they strap you down for safety and then you cannot immediate hold your baby. I'm all about trying to ensure vaginal delivery now.
And I am not too uncomfortable with two in there. I really thought I'd be way worse at this point in pregnancy! I think I'm pretty blessed with that. It's only uncomfortable when I'm trying to sleep and they decide to have an all night dance party, but even then it's too cute to get upset over.

@somewhereinafrica my first was "footling/Frank breech" and didn't/couldn't turn because I also had very low amniotic fluid and IUGR (intrauterine growth restriction - she was small for her gestational age). I had an emergency C-section at 36 weeks and it really was not so bad. I did get to hold her immediately, then she was taken to NICU for size (5lbs 1oz) and because she couldn't hold her sugars well....but if not for that she would have stayed with me.

It wasn't the birth I had hoped for. But really and truly, what matters in the end is that your baby is delivered as safety as possible. The rest is just details. Don't stress too much.

And if little mister remains footling breech, then after he's born he will continue to have his feet up for a while because that's what he's used to, which will make for some cute pix :)

Hi - new to 3rd tri this week at 28 weeks! I have a dr appt checkup this afternoon. I passed the glucose test, so all appears normal still. He's measuring a little ahead of his 2/2 due date, so that's good. I got a pic of his face finally and he's very cute. Looks like a newborn. I guess I was expecting the "fox" face my niece had, but the tech told me I was too far along and his face was fully formed now. I haven't gotten much advice. The grandmothers are busy trying to grasp how much has changed in the 35 years since they last had babies. $1k strollers, no crib bedding, no diaper pins and soakers, breast pumps. Yup, they've got their hands full. Fortunately, we did have car seats back then, they were made by GM. And they did buy me plenty of the newborn night gowns - the ones with the built-in hand mittens and the elastic bottoms. Very hard to find! The stores have really cute outfits, but I don't think I'll be up to changing that much clothing at 3 am. I switched over to hubbies insurance - it's $100 vs. $2k to deliver at the hospital. And the hospital I switched to is new and has a level 3 NICU just in case. The clinic is much closer, less than 5 min. From my home and the pharmacy and lab are right there, no driving to separate facilities like I was doing. Very fast and convienent.

@suchaglencoco I don't do NSTs- I see MFM every two weeks with ultrasound to check fluid and biophysical profiles, and then US every two weeks at regular OB, so my specialist does not feel they are necessary.
29 weeks today! Cervix is same, babies are "nice size and not small" according to perinatologist. It definitely feels like I am carrying 8.5lbs of baby!
@somewhereinafrica I am pretty disappointed to have csection and scared too. But that is what I have to do, no getting around it with 3 breech babies. I read on another group someone mentioned "spinning" exercises? Not sure if it works or if you've looked into it.
@marnief so jealous, hope you enjoy the massage!

Two years, two losses and three IUIs...

    We are having TRIPLETS!

Hey there ladies, nothing new to report really. I have my next appointment on Friday and I have to remember to ask about touring the hospital and classes, so fingers crossed that DH comes with me this time otherwise I'll forget to ask! I've just been kind of lurking for the last couple weeks. I haven't felt really social at all, which stunk for my shower this past weekend. It was nice to see everyone and to all be together, but I just wasn't in the mood for a gathering and I felt bad that I couldn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to.

QOTW: I haven't received advice so much as a certain attitude towards me as a FTM. Men and women both think they need to tell me exactly how things are going to be when #1, this isn't my first rodeo... I worked in preschool for most of my adult career and looked after 8 babes for 9-10 hours a day. Yes, I realize that's nothing compared to taking them home at the end of the day, but I'm not lacking in skills... I know exactly what it takes and I have no misgivings about it being "easy". And #2, I'm not you nor is my child your child. If you're so miserable being a parent, I'm sorry you ever became one. I know it's not easy, but that doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to the challenge. Sorry for the rant, im just getting so tired of the overwhelming pessimism of people around me.

Hi ladies! Had my 30 week appt today with a growth scan included. (I'll be 30 weeks on Thurs) My ob does routine growth scans for all of her endocrine challenged patients. Everything looks good, and baby boy is measuring in the 93%. Since he's on the big side, doc is going to have me go back at 36wks to get an idea of just how big :).

We also did our first of 2 hospital classes this evening. It was fine. Nothing super enlightening, but worth it. Birthing and labor class on Sunday.

I haven't gotten any really good or bad advice, just the usual "you just wait and see" or "het your sleep while you can". So not useful. I tend to just ignore it all.

@Kelley421, I'm jealous you don't need to do the NST! I'm always so bored and hearing their heart rates put me at ease and make me really sleepy with their rhythms.
