Awesome! How is everyone feeling? Any concerns/anxieties?
My DD is almost 2 and I'm dreading moving her to a toddler bed. The new LO is going to need DD's crib so we're trying to decide when to do the switch. I'm nervous just thinking about it.
I'm a ball of emotions. This baby was not planned. We thought we were done. So I'm still trying to get used to the idea of a third. My DS is 6 and my DD will be two in December. She sleeps with us. X_X I don't know how to get her out of my bed! I've tried and tried and nothing has worked. The baby will take her crib and I'm thinking of getting a bunk bed for the other two. We have a tiny 2 bedroom apartment and can't afford anything bigger. I'm nervous about my appointment tomorrow. I'm only 6w1d today so I'm nervous I won't see much on the ultrasound. DH doesn't even want to go! I told him that I want him to go just incase we don't get good news. His paycheck is based on him being at work, so he's nervous about missing work, which I understand. Anyways.. I just have a lot of worried and a ton of stuff going on this week.
@MrsRo731, changing to the toddler bed was so easy for both of them. Both felt trapped in the crib. Now if I DD would just stay in it.. She likes to cuddle and feels left out in her own bed.

My daughter was climbing out of hers at 13 months, so that is when we switched. It wasn't too bad.

I'm just hoping and praying that I don't get hit with the "morning" sickness I was handed the last time. I read somewhere that you start showing about a month earlier with your second pregnancy. If so, oh boy - I might have to tell people at work a lot sooner than I planned.

@juliagulia38 - Hang in there, mama. Also, FX for you during your appointment. I'm also going to my first appointment alone and am nervous I may receive bad news.

@ButterMyBiscuit - I'm worried about this, too. I'm very petite (only 5') so I have nowhere to go but out. I was huge with DD.
@juliagulia38 I here ya! This will be my third I have a 4 and 7 yr old and I'm so nervous to be starting all over again with the baby stuff! I don't know why but the thought of a large age gap between kids scares me more than when I had my DS and DD was only 2 1/2. Not to mention we thought we were done and got rid of pretty much everything!!
@MrsRo731 The transition from a crib to toddler bed happened fairly quickly wth both of my kids since they were both climbers. It was a pretty easy transition though, one or two nights of getting up and putting them back in the bed, but other than that not bad at all! I hope the transition for you and your DD is just as quick and easy!

@MrsRo731 At least we can skip the awkward "I just look fat" stage or at least fast forward through it. )
Thanks guys. I'm just a mess today. I stopped taking my Zoloft when I found out and I am praying my OB puts me back on it. It's been hell the last two weeks. Plus I'm in school full time and I'm stressed with finals coming up soon. Same here @lunanova9. I got rid of everything about 3 months ago. Luckily we have friends and family willing to help out. I'm terrified financially we can't afford this one. We can barely afford our bills as is. I'm at least hoping my DD will be potty trained. The 4 year gap was nice so I'm worried about a 2 1/2 year gap. I'm scared DD will still want to be "babied"

Dude I swear I'm already showing. I know I'm not but I never got rid of the "pooch" and I look pregnant already with all this freaking bloat! Since this is my third, I'm assuming I'll show quicker. Fx you don't get hit with morning sickness!
@juliagulia38 creepy Internet hugs* We seem to be almost in the same boat! I'm also in school and this week has me stressing hard! What are you going to school for? I'm in grad school for school counseling. FX that your DD will be potty trained fast!
@lunanova9 thanks. I'm getting my Family and Comsumer science degree. I wanna teach high school. I've still got a long way to go. After this semester I should be done with all my basics. I'm taking the summer off but I still plan on going back next fall. I need my degree to start working and we need me to start working sooner then later. I'll have to wait til DD is in kinder though, we won't be able to afford two in daycare. So this baby changes some of my school plans. Dang, I couldn't imagine being in grad school and being pregnant! At least my classes aren't too difficult! Haha and they are all online.
@MrsRo731 crib transition went pretty smooth both times here. My advice would be to completely baby proof the room for peace of mind and just jump into the transition. It will more than likely be much easier than expected.
@juliagulia38 so many hugs lady!!!!! FX your appt goes well and you totally rock your finals!! You've got this lady!!! My 5yr old and 3yr old are in bunk beds. They love them and space wise are amazing. Also my first three are all spaced about 2yrs apart. I liked the spacing a lot. It was difficult at times but I felt like it was just enough time to for the older one to become a little more independent but it wasn't so far apart that they couldn't play together with the same toys and such.
Because my other three were spaced a little over 2yrs apart, I am kind of freaking over this 2u2 thing. Morning sickness has hit me hard all of a sudden. This morning was the worst. Puking while trying to get three kids out the door so you can get your oldest to school is no joke. Blah.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance regarding switching to the toddler bed. We've been very lucky so far that DD has been a good sleeper (mostly) so I'm hoping that continues after we move her.
@kdm06c - Sorry you're feeling so crappy. Hope it passes fast and you feel better soon!
I'm thinking about starting the transition to a toddler bed soon. DD is 14m and hates her crib with a firey passion. She still sleeps with us at the moment because she loses her mind in the crib.
@juliagulia38 I'm sorry you are having a hard time. Fx your ob gives you the okay to go back on your meds. Your health is very important too!
I think I'm going to show quite a bit earlier this time too. I am slender and this bloat is making me look huge already.
Hi joining in too! My son will be 2 in June. We are not switching over to the toddler bed before (unless we feel like he is ready). His crib turns into a toddler bed and then can turn into a full size bed so that will just be his bed. I mean he has chewed on it so it is his now
I have a son who will be 4 next month and another son who is 13 months. It will be a little hectic for a few months as we are currently living in two bedrooms in my parents house while our house is being built. It won't be ready til about October so we will have 5 of us in two bedrooms and 1 bathroom for about 2.5 months. Not ideal but manageable and my parents do help out a lot.

Same here with DS. I'm working on setting up my old craft room as DS's new big boy room so I can keep the nursery as is (re: trying to motivate hubs to get off his bum and just do it). Hopefully the excitement of a new room/new racecar bed makes the transition smooth and easy.
As for everything else, the only symptom I have is a bit of tiredness. It's making me a little nervous but I'm trying not to sweat it until my appt 12/2.
@said8me - We are doing the same thing, moving DD to a new room and keeping the nursery as is. A new racecar bed sounds amazing - I bet he'll love it. FX that the transition goes well for you. Out of curiosity, when are you planning to do the transition?
@kdm06c - Love the pics! You def showed much earlier with each pregnancy. I showed very early with my first so I think I'm going to haul out my maternity clothes soon. Even if it's just bloat for now, the maternity clothes are so much comfier and stretchier.
I would also like to join! DD will be 2 in June just before the newbie arrives. She is still in her crib and sleeps like a champ and has also chewed it like crazy. I think we will hold off on putting her in a toddler bed for awhile, but probably won't buy a new crib.
@MrsRo731 - Realistically whenever hubs finishes. Aiming for DS's 2nd birthday (February), but no later than April. I want him to feel like this is a reward and not a consolation prize, if that makes sense.
DD will be 2 at the end of January. She's still in a crib and sleeps like a champ, so I'm feeling the same anxiety about moving her to a bed. I have no clue when we'll move her. She's shown no signs of trying to climb out of her crib. I just don't want to leave it too late and then on top of the normal stress of having a new baby, DD also feels like she's been kicked out of her bed. I'd also like to get the transition done before adding a newborn to the mix.
I'm guessing these are normal feelings for having a second baby... but I feel a little sad about the fact that my relationship with DD might change a bit. I also feel sad that with the new baby I won't get that same one on one bonding that I got with DD on my year of maternity leave.
Hugs @DobbysSock. Definitely normal valid feelings. Adding another kid does change the dynamics quite a bit but once you get in a decent routine it's easier to give each kiddo special one on one time.

@said8me - Kimmy Schmidt is my favorite! Can't wait for the new season. We are probably doing our transition around the same time. We're definitely not doing it within 3 months of LO arriving so we don't create any jealousy.
@DobbysSock - I'm having similar feelings; you're not alone. I'm assuming it's normal feelings to have, too. DD is very attached to me and I occasionally feel sad thinking our bond might fade. I know it's silly but I just stress about it. I work outside the home full time and am planning to keep DD in school 3/5 days once LO arrives so I can have one-on-one time with the new LO. I'm feeling guilty about that but DD loves school and since it's part of her routine I think it's going to be best for us. Is there any way you could do something similar?
Thank you @kdm06c ! It helps to know it's normal. DD is very attached to me but DH is a really great, hands on Dad so I'll still be able to take time to do special things with DD. I just need to make that a priority
@MrsRo731 that is a good idea. We do have a daycare provider as I work out of the home. She's a semi-retired older lady who had a licensed daycare for 35 years, and now provides care for 2 under 2. When I shared our plans with her to try for a second, she said the timing may work out perfectly because she is tentatively planning to retire in the summer. If we moved DD out at 2 years, which is usually what she requests, she would have a 6 month gap to fill before she wanted to retire, so she offered to keep her until I go on maternity leave. I don't know if she'd be willing to take DD occasionally after she retires, but it's a question worth asking as it would be nice to have some days alone with the new LO, and DD really loves going over there.
If that doesn't work, my MIL lives in the next town over and would love to take DD occasionally, and DH's work schedule is Tue-Fri so for 3 days a week I'll have help at home.
I have a 2 year old DS who still sleeps with me. It wasn't planned but he refuses to sleep alone. We have been working on it with out much success. I also have a 4 year old DD who has Autism and developmental delays. She doesn't sleep well so I am already sleep deprived. I feel ready for a third, but at the same time, I am so nervous we bit off more than we can chew.
