Hello all!
My 1 year old has always had a rough go from about month 1. Constipation, extreme runny poops, gas, eczema, not sleeping, and now scratching everywhere 24/7. We can't get into the allergist until February and we already know because of a blood test that she's allergic to egg whites and she's been on hypoallergenic formula since I quit BF as it was the only thing she could tolerate so we are assuming lactose intolerant as her milk protein test came back good. My question is in the meantime until feb. what are some of the common foods that your kids with allergies are allergic to that I can watch for? I've eliminated egg of course and cows milk is a no no for now but what else have kids been allergic to that I can maybe experiment with in her diet to see if it helps... She has a celiac test and if came back negative... I understand she could still be sensitive but eliminating egg, milk and gluten is a lot!! Poor little tot is wish we could get in sooner

any advice would be awesome!
Re: Allergy tests pending... In the meantime
Also, make sure you are checking the labels of EVERYTHING!! Things like spices can have traces of milk, wheat, soy, and egg. (I threw away all of our Walmart brand spices because they may contain traces of egg.) A great resource to look into for now is FARE (Food Allergy Research and Education). Their website is Www.foodallergy.org It has a lot of great resources, including how to read a label well and notices of any food recalls because of allergens.
Know, though, that your kiddo really can be allergic to anything. Mine is highly allergic to eggs, but is also slightly allergic to butternut squash. Which is a really random weird one.
The allergist will probably do an infant panel (which tests for the most common allergens) and add to the panel anything extra they or you suspect might be a problem. My daughter's pediatric allergist was awesome when we went in for the tests. He sat and talked with me for close to an hour getting a full background on all of her allergy issues (and mine, so that he could compare.).
It would be helpful to bring notes to your appointment tracking when she has shown different reactions, and when you have eliminated what from her diet. (I actually boght a little planner and just recorded what daughter had eaten and what reactions she was showing when, so that I could have a more clear picture when I went to take to the allergist.).
Sorry for the super long response. If there's anything else you have a question about, I'd love to help if I can, so feel free to ask me.
