night time feeding

anyone else having trouble feeding only at night time? my baby feeds and latches so well during the day and will feed every 4 hours but as soon as it gets to 12am he wakes every 2 hours and will not latch on and gets so worked up and screams and then I get frustrated and cry aswel and last night I got so angry I put my face in a pillow and screamed. I feel so bad because he's just hungry and wants to eat and nothing I do helps

If you can, try a bottle at night. Your milk might be low at that time or it could be any other number of reasons. My baby acts like she forgot how to eat at times - she will root like she's starving but when I give her boob she bobs around and fusses.

I have found that when DS is having trouble latching for whatever reason, he does best if I switch to the cross cradle position. Here's a link that has some useful info on latching and some illustrations of different positions you can try. DS doesn't like the same positions at night as he does during the day. So I hope this helps!

Just make sure you pump fully if you use a bottle at night! The night feedings are a huge part of helping our body regulate how much to produce!

I also find that walking and nursing DD while in cross cradle helps when she's being a booger about staying latched.
