A little overwhelmed after ultrasound

This is my second pregnancy, we had an early miscarriage back in July. Now at 7 weeks since last period.

Yesterday i went in for an ultrasound and we saw the little ball of baby and a heartbeat of 120.

The nurse practicioner then walked us through what the tech saw and let us know they found a small fibroid on the front of my uterus and implantation bleeding. Although I'm not spotting. Is implantation bleeding normal at 7 weeks?

This has me a bit worried because of our previous miscarriage. Can anyone provide any insight? I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and nervous that i don't see my doctor until December 3 and won't have another ultrasound.

Re: A little overwhelmed after ultrasound

  • What did the NP say about it? Did she have any other detail/reassurance to offer?

I'm sorry you had an unsettling ultrasound. I don't have any experience with fibroids, but I would imagine if they were super concerned they would have scheduled a follow-up sooner than next month.

  • I'm not sure if this is the same but my doctor said I have a minor subchorionic hematoma (spelling?) and that it should reabsorb. I go back in two weeks to check on it. I'm sure if it was serious your doctor would have called you.
  • No experience here but sending prayers! And hugs!

  • She said the fibroid is pretty small and doesn't think it will cause concern, but that they would watch it. With the implantation bleeding i thought that was weird for where I'm at in the pregnancy but said if I'm not bleeding or spotting not to worry, but that was unavoidable for me with a previous miscarriage.

I wish it woukd have been with my dr instead of the NP. I feel like i just left there more worried than i need to be.
