Re: PGAL- Loss Mamas Check-in- older thread

  • Scary night last night, woke up at 2:30 and had to go to the bathroom, found that I was spotting bright pink. Freaked me out since that's how all my natural losses have started. I've never had "normal" spotting. Laid awake just praying for an hour that my baby would be safe. Finally fell asleep again, woke about 3 more times and felt kind of crampy, but no more blood at ALL which was just miraculous. Convinced myself to go to work today because I was being evaluated and already stayed home yesterday, and just had the slightest bit of brown spotting today. So I'm hoping and praying it was nothing serious and this little one is hanging on in there. I'm soooo beyond exhausted though, the crampiness has been making me a bundle of nerves today. As soon as my after-school student leaves, I'm going home and sleeping.

  • @winnie1122 also praying it was just your lo making itself more comfortable. A little cramping often comes with spotting and the brown means it's old. I hope your day wraps up soon and you can get home & relax (physically at least.)

    Hi everyone new.
  • @winnie1122 I'm impressed you were able to fall back asleep! How scary. FX for you and hope you got a good sleep this afternoon!

This is our first and I'm in the lovely "advanced maternal age" group so it's been nerve wracking! Good vibes being sent to you and everyone here!!

Wow... We are on the same schedule. When is your first u/s?

    I have a good update!

First ultrasound was today at 6w2d and there's a little bean in there! We saw that teeny little heart fluttering away, too. It was like a million pounds off my chest. I'm over the moon. FX this little nugget keeps growing.

    Fantastic!!!
  • Today was a rough one. Had my first US the bug is measuring at 6w1d and we saw a flicker of a heartbeat. The beats were 'sluggish' but the tech said it could become its so early. I go back next Thursday. So my hubby and I are cautiously optimistic.

Any positive thought, prayers, fairy dust anything I'll take it. I'm trying to stay super positive.
  • @kk1033 T&Ps headed your way. It's super early to see a heartbeat so that's exciting! It probably just started beating and makes sense that it's not very strong. Everything is crossed for you.
  • @KK1033 Fingers crossed!
  • Miscarried in August with our first child. I was 9 weeks, but we knew at about 6 weeks that things weren't going well. Found out I was pregnant on Saturday and my husband left on business Sunday morning for a training trip he couldn't reschedule. No one in our families know we are expecting again and my entire family lives in other states. I went to have my blood drawn to confirm pregnancy and they did but they are very low. I go again today to see if they doubled. This is what happened last time and I am trying to be positive, but I am so afraid to go through this with no one here and no one who knows. Fingers crossed and prayers sent for doubling numbers today!

Prayers and everything crossed for doubling betas! Remember, they want them to double every 48-72 hours. You are pregnant today.
  • Light brown spotting again this AM. No cramps though. I spoke to the RE office and they weren't concerned. Told me rest and try to relax & they would see me tomorrow for my already scheduled appointment. The next 24hrs are going to be horrible.

The spotting seems to have stopped now. I'm working from home in a recliner hehe.

  • Totally just took another pregnancy test and I'm admitting it to all of  you because a) you get it b) you'll support me and c) if I tell DH I took another one he'll roll his eyes and laugh and I can't deal with that.

It was a digital and not taken with FMU...still came back positive and with the weeks indicator of 2-3 which is pretty close.  I ovulated 13 days ago!

  • @MrsBinPA Ugh. What time is your appointment tomorrow? I'm in the am but my labs won't be back until later. Fx your spotting stops.

@megstervt Hello, my name is BostonBaby... And I am addicted to peeing on sticks.

@PleaseSendPicklesNow Relief is normal. I don't fistpump but if I did. Lol

@PleaseSendPicklesNow I don't fist pump either, but I am a fan of the self high five

@MrsBinPA thinking of you.  Don't care how many times I hear "spotting is normal", doesn't make you feel better.

  • @BostonBaby1 my appointment is 8:45EST tomorrow!  No additional spotting as of my last check.  My labs won't be available until afternoon either.  I am having the US, but am not expecting more than gestational sac + yolk sac.  I will only be 5+5 so liklihood of heartbeat is pretty iffy!

@PleaseSendPicklesNow TOTALLY get you on the fist pump!

I had a MAJOR wave of nausea after I ate lunch today.  I went from feeling like I could/should eat more to ready to lose it in a matter of seconds.   Right now all I feel like doing is sleeping & I am freezing!!!

I thought I had a very faint, very light brown discharge yesterday- and being overly cautious since my mc, I called doc right away. She wanted me to get a blood test for HcG level yesterday and one today- yesterday's came back (at 6 wk 2 d) at 31,000 +, up from 515 on Oct. 27, and I don't know what today's was. I imagine it's not doubled, but increased a little less than half. I feel comfortable with that. First apt isn't until the 24th. I have been having a -lot- of sex, so that might be the reason for the light brown discharge.

Every time I go pee I'm nervous.

I keep feeling my boobs to make sure they still hurt. :)
  • @jlgriff11 My goodness. Those are high numbers! Fx for great labs tomorrow.

For everyone whose betas are much lower, here is a website that is a great reference.

  • Late yesterday afternoon the morning sickness hit me like a ton of bricks. I have since been so nauseous and on the verge of tossing my cookies every 10 minutes. And I couldn't be happier! Yesterday is also exactly how far along I was in the last pregnancy when I started miscarrying. So I was very happy to have some symptoms to indicate things are progressing in there!

And I also religiously examine toilet paper and I also POAS on Monday again so I'm with you ladies!
  • I am so happy!! Had an ultrasound Tutsi and heard a heart beat! I'm only 6w2d, so was hopeful but not expecting it as it's still early. This just lifted away so much of the worry and anxiety I've been carrying around since my BFP. I'm so thankful!
  • @WorkingMom562 Fantastic!

@MrsBinPA .., I can't remember if it is just us going in the morning, but I'll be thinking of you and keeping everything crossed! I hope you sleep tonight. I'm pretty sure I won't ;-)
  • @BostonBaby1 everything crossed for you too! I fell asleep on the sofa & am now in bed hoping sleep returns soon. If I wake up at my usual 3:30 I will be doomed for falling back to sleep!!

  • I've been checked out this week. My daughter was diagnosed with fifth disease, which if I don't have immunity to it and catch it, it could cause a miscarriage or problems with baby's heart. We just went through a miscarriage in Sept., so this has had me frazzled all week. I took a blood test on Tues morning to check for immunity and am still awaiting results. Hope all of you are doing better.
  • @heim0117 having everything crossed for you! Please update us when you can?

@BostonBaby1 and MrsBinPA good luck today ladies!

  • I'm annoyed because my blood test results are -in- but they won't give me the number without the doctor having looked at it first, so now I have to wait on them to call me. I mean, I feel good about it, in a I already vomited once this morning way, but still, I would prefer to have official confirmation that my levels are still rising. They were pretty good numbers yesterday (my mom seems to think I'm having twins they were high enough), butttttttt.

    I hate waiting.
  • I'm feeling slightly less anxious today, still running to the bathroom all day long to examine my underwear "just to be sure". It's a terrible habit, but I get so much relief from seeing clean toilet paper.

Other than that, I'm really embracing just being pregnant and trying to take it day by day. My husband, on the other hand, is staying cautious. I just want to see h be happy about this but he took our loss so hard and he's so scared to "get his hopes up again" :(
  • Back from my appointment. Gestational sac was oblong not round. Was hard to visualize inside. They were mixed about what, if anything was inside. HCG will be available around 3pm. I have a follow-up US Monday.

Praying the HCG is OK. If not, I suspect things won't be good. We shall see. Will let you know when I get the numbers.

  • I got my HcG number which was up to 35,000 + yesterday, from 31,400+ the day before. Aide who called said doc expected it to double but since I KNOW I don't double in 24 hours and I'm choosing not to stress about it. It rose and that's what matters.
  • @LifeStory welcome & I am so sorry for your losses.

    HCG is in. 16,152!

I'm going to do my very best to stay positive and see where we are on Monday AM.

It's rest for me the next few days.

  • Hi ladies. Sorry I've been so quiet. I've been nervous. My betas finally came back (so sad, there was a tragedy at my IVF clinic. One of the main doctor's son passed away so they were rushing to get everybody in and the lab got backed up. Also explains why I was sent to an external facility for the u/s.)

After a lot of looking around, they were able to find a tiny yolk sac. I couldn't see it, but I'm going to trust that it's there. They said that I am 5.5 weeks. My betas came back at over 12,000 so I'm very pleased with the rise. It's still too early to tell what's going on so I think @MrsBinPA and I are both in a similar boat.

@MrsBinPA did they tell you what the gestational sac was measuring at? I agree wit @winnie1122 that things are changing so fast at this point.

@LifeStory i'm very sorry for your losses. Of course we are glad to have you join us.

@jlgriff11 I think that you definitely have the right outlook! I'm not even getting any more blood draws because they said that they slow down so much.

    (((Hugs))) to everyone!
