The duggars were just brought up in a separate thread and it made me curious what others watch on tv.


Not exactly proud of some of my choices but my recording list includes ( or included):

Live free or Die
Cops
The walking dead
Teen mom
19 kids and counting
Doomsday preppers
( we prep but nothing super extreme)
Botched
Naked and afraid
Life below zero
My 600 pound life
Alaskan bush people
And
Gypsy sisters ( sometimes it so bad I can't watch it )

We don't have cable but we do have netflix and amazon prime. I just finished binge-watching Bones about 2 weeks ago, now I'm on season 4 of Murdock Mysteries.

@jonesl12 is it prepping if I hoard food and can whatever I can get my hands on? I can't have a garden in my rental and I live in fear of being hungry, since I can't just go out to the pasture and butcher some steaks and burger anymore!

Otherwise I'm more of a reader than a watcher, but DH and I watch the Walking Dead every Sunday, I turn on the Vampire Diaries while I'm cleaning, and we just discovered Parks and Recreation (I'm a sucker for Amy Poehler and Tina Fey!)

@imrachellea I like pawn stars too. My friend Kellee works at the gold and silver pawn shop in Vegas we got to go there on a day they were recording ( at the time they were recording on a Friday) and check out the place. We didn't end up on tv but it was cool she was able to show us around a bit.
Part of what you see on the show now is a set... It used to all be recorded in the shop but now certain scenes are actually a set.


Edit : wait Jill n Jessa will have a show!!! ??? What channel and when? How did I not know this lol

@imrachellea I got through all 11 seasons of criminal minds on Netflix while I was recovering from surgery and over a long weekend - a total of about 7 days, if I'm remembering correctly. It was ugly, but I did homework while watching so it was justified.

I only really DVR Fargo, this season is a bit weird.  DH DVRs a bunch of things, some I'll watch with him.  I have to say I don't enjoy The Daily Show since Jon Stewart left.  The new guy is not meant for a TV show

@jonesl12 DH actually watched the show first since he loves history (he is a high school social studies teacher, primarily government), I also taught history but just happened in to it where it was his first career choice. We are getting more annoyed by the show now because it is so staged. We hate the corny banter that goes on and is obviously staged and scripted. We wish they would just stick with the cool antiques and unique finds! And The Jill and Jessa show will be on TLC still, its going to be a mini-series I believe, looking at Jill and Derrick's work overseas, I believe Jessa's birth will be on it as well. It is also going to look at their stories behind what happened. I don't think a date is set yet, but I've heard December is the when it will begin.

@amadorrose I can't even imagine watching so much twistiness in that short of a time frame...! Some episodes, by themselves, make me queasy and uneasy! But I still love it...

On a side-note...the only show I have ever literally blocked from viewing on our TVs (through parent controls) was Honey Boo Boo.  I'm not proud to say that she lived near me and there was enough drama when the family was out and about in town that there was NO way they needed to be on our TV.

Our husbands are the same! We watch all the Alaska shows too. 

We also watch Shark Tank, Naked and Afraid, Big Bang Theory, whatever else my husband changes the channel too. Between my DD and DH, I don't have much "me" TV time.

Oh right, totally forgot about Blacklist. We did the first two season on Netflix, and are catching the first five episodes right now on the NBC streaming app. We actually cut cable and have a Roku with apps and streaming stations. Disney Junior app, FTW! :-P

ETA: Ugh when shows go on hiatus I totally forget about them...so we actually ALSO watch Graceland, Bloodline, and Longmire.

And...we watch too much TV :-P

I have all of the seasons of..
Criminal Minds, NCIS, Big Bang Theory, and Friends on DVD. They're my all time faves.

DH records Drunk History and it is hilarious and we watch Jeopardy together when we get the chance.

I also enjoy..
The Voice, Code Black (new ER-style drama on CBS, so good), Jimmy Fallon, SNL, Shark Tank, Food Network competition shows (Chopped, Cutthroat Kitchen, Guy's Grocery Games, baking competitions, etc.), and occasionally take in some trash like Duggars, KUWTK, etc. when sleep is especially hard to come by.

We also have about 75 episodes of Special Agent Oso on our DVR, thanks to Eli the remote control master.
