Baby's First Christmas

What are you all getting your babies for their first Christmas, since they'll be around 7-8 months?

We're planning on getting some developing toys for his age and up, such as crawling and that will help him learn to walk. Probably about 3-4 toys. Also a few outfits, but I wanted to do something that will be a keepsake....Any ideas

Re: Baby's First Christmas

  • Our thought is a book, clothing, and a toy (something educational, something needed and something fun).
  • I saw an idea for a keepsake ornament. You get a clear glass ball ornament, take the hook/top off, and then inside place their baby cap from the hospital and their hospital ID band inside, put the hook/top back on. Voila! Keepsake ornament.
  • Loading the player...
  • We are thinking of buying just a couple developmental toys (2-3 items).  We are hosting Christmas this year so we will have lots of extended family staying with us and all of them are dying to buy stuff for the baby of the family. In order to avoid tons of clothes she'll grow out of or toys she won't play with I am putting together a Christmas List for our daughter.  I've been adding to it every time I see something that would be fun for her like blocks, stacking rings, a teddy bear that teaches them body parts, a huge fluffy teddy bear (ok, not so developmental but very cute!) and a jacket.
  • We bought some developmental toys(BeatBo, an activity cube, etc), a few outfits, and are planning to get a few books.  I'm going to order a personalized stuffed animal from Etsy with all of his birth stats, which I'm super excited about.  He's the only grandchild/nephew on both sides, so he will be super spoiled.  We asked others to buy him a suitcase, and a wagon, plus I'm sure they'll get him clothes/toys, etc.
