Let's hear 'em!

I never got over Gagnam style and will totally want to dance when I hear it, which is usually randomly, like in the middle of a Target or something.

Edited to change post title date. It's apparently November, not October.

The only day I can do my 24 hr urine test is today (tomorrow I am going to be running around doing errands/watching a friend's kids and Sunday is church, then a friend's house to watch the football game, then we are back to Monday again). I put my *clean* pee jug (in a sealed plastic bag and a red biohazard bag!) in the fridge because it needs to be refrigerated and I wasn't going to lug a cooler into work and have to keep refilling the ice. If anyone asks what is in the jug, I am going to tell them...It's my urine. IDGAF.

Shouldn't have read that as I was taking a drink of apple juice.
    :-&

ETA: My FFFC is that I plan on doing nothing at work today and I don't feel the least bit guilty about it.

  • To my 8:30am appointment who decided not to show up. Thanks. I really appreciate that I had to bust my butt to get here on time and you don't have the decency to at least call me.

No worries @ladysamlady They want to get a baseline kidney function and liver function results to see if I have protein spillage in my urine already. Because I was in multisystem organ failure last time and had such bad HELLP/pre-e, my OB wants to rule out residual kidney or liver damage to see where I am starting at so we can better detect if I start heading into dangerous pre-e territory again. My BPs have been great, but we aren't taking any chances this time! I actually kind of enjoy collecting my urine...it brings me back to my nursing school days when I lived with 6 other girls in a tiny apartment and tracked our urine and bowel habits with chalk on the wall behind the toilet and analyzed the results weekly as part of a research experiment. Ahh, good times.

  • I hate sharing the road with cyclists. They're EVERYWHERE where I live, and they're obnoxious. I know it's their right to be in the road and lawfully where they should be blah, blah, blah, but that doesn't make it any less annoying for those of us who can move faster than 10 mph.
THIS. But pedestrian style. I hate sharing the sidewalks/crosswalks with them! I have almost been hit so many times. They hardly ever follow the traffic laws! And Citi Bikes have only made it worse because there are a lot of people that are not at all aware of the laws or their physical well being biking to and from work without helmets on cell phones. They drive me crazy!!

  • This morning on the drive to work a story on the radio brought me to tears! Some terminally ill guy was given two months to live in July, but all he wants before he dies is to see the new Star Wars movie. So JJ Abrams and Disney brought him the unedited version yesterday and even Mark Hammel tweeted about it. Geek + pregnancy hormones = water works!! :((

  • Not liking my midwife office or insurance company right now. I'm working at home today and read over my financial agreement again (you know bc I'm bored).

Of course the first thing I read is the word estimated next to fees. Obviously I ignored it before. Essentially as part of my agreement I have to pre-pay for some of my fees. Which actually cost quite a bit... But I have to pay 2 payments this year (before my deductible resets) and 2 next. Bc of this I have to pay about $450 extra since my deductible will have reset. That is unless I can talk them into filing the claims for those payments after January 1st - which my amazing DH is going to take care of. I know they're going to come back and say they can't do it though for whatever reason... So boo.

It's not that we don't have the money... Bc we do. We've been saving in our hsa accounts for the past several years. We have more than enough to cover things medically for awhile, but if I don't have to pay $450 then I really don't want to.

At least $450 is better than the amount I freaked about before I actually calmed down and sat to do the math.

Also, dry cleaning sucks. DH has a formal dinner event for work tonight (I can't go... Darn guess I'll just binge watch some Netflix :) ) and took his clothes and tie to get dry cleaned 4 days ago. He picked up his suit and shirts 2 days ago, but they lost his very expensive tie... Actually the one he used at our wedding that he feels the need to wear tonight for whatever reason. They called today 2 days later to say they think they found it. I certainly hope when he gets there that they actually did. Let's just say he doesn't have the best track record with wedding related items. He actually lost his original wedding band and didn't tell me. Oblivious me didn't notice until he ordered a new different one and I asked why it looked different. Long story short... He found the old one in the couch so I forgave him.

And that turned into more of a long winded rant, but oh well idc. I needed it today.
  • I'm getting eyelash extensions tomorrow because I'm so sick of messing with mascara lately. I feel like I can do foundation and lips in two seconds and it takes thirty damn minutes to make mascara look good. I'm over it.

Yes!!! Where we live there are miles and miles of regular bike trails and hill biking trails...and yet...these fools ride their bikes on the one lane road out of the neighborhood. You can access the trails from at least five places without backing up traffic. I have nowhere else to drive but they have trails everywhere! I can't take it.

I feel you. My DH is on his fifth wedding band. Everything from losing it in the ocean on a beach trip to it flying off while tossing the football which resulted in us digging through grass for an hour. We've gone down in cost each time and now he has a Qalo ring for crossfit reasons. Lol - whatev.

I second that. I imagine you sitting at runway shows, deciding what the next big trend will be. (Aside: Are your responsible for the patterned-pant craze?)

My confession is SO just got a promotion offer in Honolulu and my head is so clouded by dreams of sipping coconut water on the beach that I'm not sure if our decision of whether or not to move is taking our baby into consideration enough and I'm feeling endlessly guilty. HALP :((

Is it wrong I'd move in a heartbeat? I'd make it work and baby could deal. lol.

I wish it was that glamorous. I work with overseas factories to source fabric and trims, cost out garments, work on making sure they achieve our deliveries and basically follow up on every aspect of production. Its not like the movies portray me, trust me!

Ummm, I would be all over that!!  What's your concern for the kiddo (not trying to sound dismissive; genuinely curious)?
  • @yogahh Either way it sounds like you're the HBIC which sounds pretty glamorous and awesome to me.

  • @dsmith211 HAHA that's basically what we've been saying to ourselves. We're like "so what, we'll be paying $1500 for a 350 square foot apartment, pfffft we'll just spend a lot of time outside." But then the new mama in me is freaking out like what if we CANT make it work?
  • @evamarta GOOOO and don't look back! If anything, I think your baby will thank you for it!

  • @Bluejay3030 Well we just moved to Denver so he could open up a new restaurant for the company not even two full months ago and that entire move took a ton of our energy and savings but we assumed we would be here for a while. During the beginning of the move I miscarried our first and even though I can't blame myself because it was so early I worry about the stress of yet another move. But my main concern is how long it will take us to build up our savings AGAIN when we move this time and I've heard the cost of living is outrageous. SO makes a good living but I probably won't be working when the baby gets here so I'm not sure how far his income will go there so I've been trying to google as much info as possible but just like with the move to Denver I've learned the only real way to see is to just kind of jump in and do it which would have been fine when it was just he and I but now that I'm pregnant I'm like are we still allowed to make quick decisions like this and throw caution to the wind? Sorry for this crazy long reply!
  • FFFC: resurrected threads make me ragey. Why are you 15 pages deep on commenting on a thread?! Just no.

I'm sure your child would love growing up in Hawaii as much as you'd enjoy living there!
  • @evamarta I think that you have limited time left to make crazy decisions like that and you should do it! DH and I have thought about moving somewhere random for the heck of it because we want to experience living somewhere else, but we would have to do it before DD starts school. I would hate for her to have to switch schools just because we decided to move, but before that I am all for it! And if we had an opportunity to move to Hawaii I would in a heartbeat!

Side note: I was watching house hunters last week and the couple was looking for a house to rent. Maybe you could call up HGTV!

I think the biggest reason for this is that people are told to search for things before they post, which is totally fine. But the end result is multiple threads with 200+ posts. I'm definitely not going to read those.

    Also @vinerie, I think it's 11/6 not 10/6!

Lol. I like how none of us even noticed that. I actually had to look. I'm so oblivious lately. Baby is killing my brain power.

I just realized that the chicken alfredo I made for dinner last night is a bit...off. I did not eat any last night (left early for choir and chowed Tace Bell instead!), but was just having some for lunch. I have spent the last 10 min trying to figure out what it is and just realized I must have used pumpkin pie spice instead of garlic! Yet, MH ate it with gusto and even complimented me on it this morning before going to work. Hmmm...maybe pumpkin pie spice is the new secret ingredient!

Yeah...my chicken is all Thanksgiving-y...and I'm not sure if I hate it or love it...

Oh you just made me laugh.  I can't imagine pumpkin pie spice in chicken lol

@yogahh McDonalds chicken nuggets are the bomb diggity.  I think I could seriously eat my weight in those sometimes.  Unfortunately for me, my baby does not tolerate a lot of fried food at once, which really sucks.   I love McDonalds nuggets

  • @evamarta I definitely understand the hesitation regarding the finances, and I'm sorry for your previous loss :(.

I would have a hard time wanting to move again if I had just relocated, but I also agree with what @JessicaB0627 said. It's easier to be spontaneous now vs later when the kids start school.

Whatever you decide, good luck! I'm sure you'll be able to make it work if you're both on the same page.
  • @JessicaB067 Ahhh! i've always wanted to be on a reality TV show and HGTV could be the closest thing to it!

@Kbrands7 Hahaha that's what SO and I keep telling ourselves that we're doing it FOR our baby

@yogahh McDonald was my dinner three nights and I usually HATE eating out in general but especially fast food but it was 100% satisfying NOM

My real confession? In having McDonald for lunch. I haven't been here in 10 years and I'm not a fast food fan. But I blame baby. He really wants chicken nuggets and a chocolate milkshake. #lardass

I've had some form of Chicfila 4 times this week. DH doesn't know that, so of course today he offers to pick up Chicfila on the way home from work. I guess that'll make 5.

I'm not much of a fast foodie normally, either. I do love my Chicfila, but prior to pregnancy I would maybe eat it 2 or 3 times a month...
  • I guess my creepy confession is that I figured out where @yogahh works based on a comment she made awhile ago about a product they are known for. But all I could really think about was the amazing discount possibilities.
