I do this once every few weeks. Mental health day. Our vacation days are poop, so it's my only option, really.

Since we've been told that our entire team at work will be getting laid off in the near future (at this point I don't even know exactly when), I have been using my workdays to start looking for new potential jobs instead of actually working. Not even sorry.

My husband is planning on going hunting tomorrow... hasnt gone in almost 2 years and i have no clue where his hunting bag is. Ive looked and know he is going to blame me for him not picking up his crap ... i am not even looking forward to him getting off work tonight.

We are going to visit my parents this weekend. I'm not planning on telling them I'm pregnant with #3. I'm just not ready for their reactions...

We're heading down to VA to visit the in-laws this weekend. I adore them. Seriously. But the thing i'm most excited for? MIL is taking us out to dinner tonight and I know she will pay for us (she always insists, we never ask)... and I can splurge a bit and get a yummy steak that I would never pay for on my own. ... Selfish. I know.

I left work at lunch yesterday and I'm not going back until Monday. Yesterday was for my first appointment and today we are going to San Francisco for a wedding that starts at 5:30. I'm mad to take a day off for that but I'm eating waffles in my jammies and watching Netflix. I believe in mental health days. Had to convince another girl at work of that- she thought she shouldn't take any because teachers get summers off. I need my days so I don't go crazy!

It's 10:30 and I'm still in my pj's. DD has the day off from school and I planned for us to just lay around, eat, and watch cartoons together.

My kid had to wear a Pull Up yesterday because I was too tired and nauseous to do laundry all week and ran out of clean underpants.

@DeePaddy24 I came so close to doing the same thing....but I am claiming a PT appointment so I can leave after lunch. I am looking forward to a hot date with my sweatpants and Netflix!

Haha, I'm actually going to a paint party tonight. I'm the opposite. I'll go even if I don't like the painting so I get an evening off from the kids and H.

ETA- H is sick and DS is sick and I'm still going. I told him I can't cancel even though I can. I never get a break when I'm sick so why should he?

This is a loooong stretch for students and teachers! It's a long time between Labor Day and Thanksgiving. DH is a teacher and took a personal day last Friday so we could finish up some house projects that have been waiting to be completed since summer break. Yeeaah, the only thing we accomplished was a trip to Target. You deserve a mental health day! My dad has been a school administrator for years and advocates taking mental health days.

My confessions aren't anything scandalous, but here they are:

I've always been a "no Christmas before Thanksgiving" person, but I've been listening to Christmas music every day since Halloween. I am just so excited for Christmas this year because DD is old enough to finally know what's going on.

I canceled voice lessons yesterday because I wasn't feeling well enough to clean my house for my students to come over.

I ate Burger King for dinner last night. I had the weirdest craving for a whopper. I haven't had BK for years, and I forgot how un-delicious their fries are. Womp womp.

I hired a cleaning service this week...I was in a dreadful cycle of hating how dirty things were but not having the capability and energy to do anything about it. 
I'm now toying with making it a regular...


I can't bring myself to click on threads that are over 2 pages. I don't get a lot of bump time lately and long threads are so daunting lately. I can't read it all in my short time so I avoid it. I want to read it...and participate....I just...can't.

I have OCD about the cleanliness of my house AND consider myself pretty eco-conscious. We use reusable everything, except toilet paper. But I have been so sick for the last 5 weeks that it takes me a week to do a one hour task and paper plates might be the only thing that gets me through this pregnancy. I'm already on my third pack.

I probably won't need to buy new maternity pants until third tri. Not because I won't get big -- because all my regular pants are pull-on.

Me too... I so wish I could do that but I'm trying to save up as much PTO/sick time as possible before my maternity leave!

 

My FFFC - when I was trying to think of my plans for the weekend for the Friday Symptoms thread I completely forgot that Sunday is my 1 year wedding anniversary. Oops
