Morning Sickness

Hello all,

I am almost 9 weeks and hating these all day "morning" sickness.  With my first child I did not suffer this badly and had a boy.  Does anyone think I may be carrying a little girl this time around that's causing all this.  Anyone have advice on handling morning sickness, especially since I still haven't told people at work that I am expecting.  Thanks ladies.

Re: Morning Sickness

  • My mom had no morning sickness with me or my brother. Morning sickness doesn't correlate to gender, 85% of women report some type of MS and 85% of babies are not girls. Every pregnancy is different.

As far as handling it, small, frequent, bland meals. My doc also recommends 25 mg of vitamin B6 2x a day. Tips for handling at work, do your best to be discrete if it comes to puking. That's about all I've got. I've already used stomach bug so we'll see how long I manage to get away with this.

  • I had zero MS with DD, and only a couple things made my tummy turn.  This pregnancy is so different!  No actual MS yet, but my stomach is always queezy and I can't handle smells!

  • MS in no way is a sign of boy vs. girl.  You will have to wait until genetic testing or an anatomy scan for that one!  In addition to the tips above, my OB also said unisom can be used safely to minimize nausea.
