Smell cravings?

I'm OBSESSED with the smell of my garage (any garage really - my in-laws have a particularly nice one) and wish somebody would make it into a food. Lays flavor contest? Totally going for "Garage-flavored" next year. Next big thing. Also yellow (original?) Listerine. I'm very happy I can (sort of) eat that. I can get it into my mouth, swirl it around, spit it out. Then it's infusing itself all over my nose and mouth for the next half hour. That's enough.

I'd say I'm more obsessed with smells than I am with any food. Except parsley and the reason I'm so crazy for it is because if you eat enough of it, it starts to taste like house paint.

Baby lotion. I was gifted a big bottle of J&J baby lotion (the pink one) really early on in pregnancy and I used it on myself daily. "> the smell just made me happy.

And I totally agree with the parsley comment.

I admit this sounds pretty amusing. But have you asked your OB about this? I know craving ice and dirt during pregnancy are signs of mineral deficiency. Maybe the smell of concrete, oils and other things in a garage could be a sign as well? Maybe I just sound crazy, but you never know.

I was actually thinking about that today - mostly because my husband was like "Ok, this is just getting weird" when i wandered out to the garage with him, almost in a daze, like a lost child. I'll bring it up at my next OB appt, though..

The smell of Home Depot/Lowes makes my mouth water. Also, clean laundry smell. :x
I do have low iron though so I know that's part of it.

Ooooh yeah the lumber section? And down around the power tools? Oh my god.. We just moved into our first house and my husband always finds a reason to go to Lowe's. And I always go with him.

Holy crap @calbin00, I was watching Property Brothers last night on HGTV and I said to myself, "Mmm... I bet that house smells like Lowes" and then I really really wanted to go to Lowes just for the sweet sweet smell of it... It's amazing!

I'm the same way with garage smell! I just told my mom this yesterday when we were in hers it sounds gross but literally I wanted to lick the blocks... Although I wouldn't because... Ew..

Yessssss. I was in Hobby Lobby and just stood there sniffing the balsa wood for a good 5 minutes. I'm almost tempted to go back and buy some to chew on or something.

Yes! My smell cravings are leather, and wood. I've actually drove to Home Depot and walked around smelling all of the fresh wood..

I totally get this convo!!! The smell of DH's deodorant is simply to die for! He always wears the same one but the farther along I get the better it smells. I weirded him out the other day when I asked to smell him lol.

Oh yeah I forgot Pine Sol! I try to make a point of not sniffing household cleaners too often but DEAR GOD PINE SOL..

If I could bottle a perfume that smells,like shoe store.... I would. Also they redid the parking lot next to my place and loved the smell of the redone pavement. I couldn't go outside because I was obsessed!

marijuana. funny because no one I know smokes it, but I have a craving to smell it and if I'm out in public and get a whiff I'm obsessed!

Yes!! I've been carrying around an Irish spring soap bar in my purse just to smell! On top of that, I bought the Irish spring body wash and deodorant! I seriously cannot get enough. I also crave the smell of pine sol and laundry soap!!!

I love smells! Home Depot is my jam too, but put me around some candles or good smelling soaps and I'm a total liability ! Cinnamon is one of my favorites right now.
I think it's because normally I don't have a good sense of smell so I'm enjoying my
Spidey senses right now.
On the down side , I teach 7th grade and can definitely smell my boys coming from gym a mile away

Rubbing alcohol!!! Or the hospital. My mom thinks it's odd to crave a smell. Haha. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Just for all you other crazies, I bought Burt's Bees Shea Butter hand repair cream and it totally has a hardware store scent to it. So it makes me feel a little less crazy because it's lotion that I'm sniffing .

Glad not just me, for me it's laundry detergent and cleaning products my house has never been so clean just because I love the smell

I completely understand this. I will sit and smell my laundry forever while I'm putting it in the dryer. I make my own detergent and I just LOVE the smell. My hubby thinks I'm crazy but I just give him the hormonal pregnant look and he walks away quietly LOL

LOL. Lowes & Home Depot smell like heaven to me and I've been taking a big whiff of the babies r us detergent every day. I just LOVE the smell. We're a bunch of crazies!

Oh my gosh, yes! I have had the most intense smell cravings for garages and similar smells. I never had this before I was pregnant. I think about the smells all the time. Glad I am not alone…

I as well have been having some crazy smell cravings. The smell of new carpet,paint,spray paint, gas, bleach, dawn dish soap, and fabuloso as well as pine sol have really been what i want to smell. If i could injest all those and not be harmed i would. Which is really strange c ok nsidering my whole life any chemical/ gas or fume smell has made me sick or given me a migrane. I have to be super careful at work (waitress) because i catch myself cleaning the buss tub out instantly with steaming water and bleach because i wanna smell it. But i limit myself now. And make sure i am not around those fumes as much therefore keeping me from wanting to smell them more. Its really weird how pregnancy completely changes your nose and taste senses

Wet dirt or concrete. Yesterday it was sprinkling and I passed some road construction and they were jackhammering the sidewalk...I wanted to go get some to suck on....Iits bizarre! But Dr says everything is normal I'm just weird..ha-ha. But not even joking, every time it rains I want to find dirt and eat it like a bowl of ice cream...but I'm too chicken someone or something peed or spit on it or something so I just hope the smell satisfys me and move on...now my mouth is watering...

I actually lived the dream today. I bought a head of really strong, dark curly parsley and sat in the garage eating it. My husband found me when he came to program the new garage door opener and made fun of me. I kept having to close the garage door after him because he was letting all the stank out.
