Ive stripped her down and checked to make sure there were nonhairs or anything. Mo rash. Nothing. I just cant get her to stop crying. Shes 4weeks old. Please help!!

Re: Why wont she stop crying???!!

  • Sounds like gas pains . My LO is 6 weeks and he is on formula. I had to switch it to the senstive kind and give him gas drops. He still has issues just not as bad. I am currently doing the same thing holding him bc he doesn't sleep more than an hour in his pack in play it swing bc it wakes him up

  • You are not alone, on top of all the LO is grabbing at the side of the cradle and pulling himself over, like rolling over at 6 weeks. Try massaging ur LO belly and doing bicycling legs and tummy time helps also
  • Are her feet kicking a lot? If so its gas.

But somewhere around 4 1/2 weeks babies go through a mental growth spurt. There is an app and book that talks about this, it's called wonder weeks. I noticed our little one started the leap early as he started waking up more at night, eating more and just crying for no reason. I've been swaddling him more and just cuddling. It may just be that growth spurt
  • Growing pains my little guy has them at night. Doctor said it will pass but he said it hurts a lot and that's why they are so fussy and inconsolable sometimes.
  • My LO turned 4 weeks on Sunday and for 3 days straight would cry every time I put her down, including at night when I tried to put her to sleep.  Like @Krysta6 mentioned, they are going through a "leap" or mental growth spurt at this age.  It can last a few days to a week.  It most likely will not last more than a few days.
  • I second gas pains as a possible cause, or maybe it's just fussing... We do leg rolls where I gently push babies knees up and roll them clockwise to get DS to toot.

Getting a baby carrier and wearing baby while they're fussy can really help your sanity by allowing you to be mobile and get some things done while they get to sleep on you.
  • My baby had gas pains the first two weeks of life just 3 times though. We out her on mylicon drops and dr. Brown bottles. We also burp her a lot and prop her up for 20-30 mins after feeding. Since we started her on this feeding routine she hasn't had any problems since. Dr. Brown bottles I swear are the best. They filter out the air!
  • We went through this. He was 4 weeks last Saturday and last night he slept amazing and has been so content.
Just cuddle him through it. Baby wear if you need to get things done. Or have someone else hold him.
  • Going through same thing at 4 weeks.. cannot just put her down without her crying unless she is asleep.
  • Have you tried swaddling?

With my first I got a moby wrap for these wonder weeks/growth spurts. Saved me a lot of crying .. Sorry
  • I have gotten the dr. Brown bottles! Amazing!! She definately seems more comfortable with those. And she doesnt make near the mess!! As for gas....seems better too. Shes had skme better days..so possible was just going through that wonder week period. I have to remind myself she is still getting used to this outside world. And it must be acarey that as soon as they get used to something they realize something new about their bodies.
  • My midwife suggested probiotics for babies with gas pains to help them digest.
  • Check out happiest baby on the block dvd or book
  • The witching hour! Google it :)
  • I agree that it could be the witching hour. Our twin boys witching hour can last for many hours in the evening. It went on for weeks, but we've found ways to manage it. Swaddles, music, motion, and some other little tricks make a huge difference in soothing them. Many of my friends are also dealing with this, so I did a little write up of the things that have helped us to manage the crying. I hope it helps. Good luck, mama! https://www.theydontfeedthemselves.com/newborn-twins-witching-hour-tricks/
