Re: ** 2nd Tri Check-In 11/2**

  • I'm 19w3d and tomorrow is our anatomy scan. I'm starting to feel little flutters, and I'm so excited.

On a TMI level, is anyone else peeing themselves when they cough, sneeze, etc? I think I leak a little bit at random times too, if my bladder is full. I sneezed yesterday and literally wet my pants a little bit. My DH was in hysterics.

    Me: 35 DOR - AMH 1.1 FSH 5.6

    DH: 39

09/01/10 - First pregnancy - my sweet son was born

    04/25/14 - Miscarriage at 9 weeks - Turner Syndrome

    08/01/14 - Miscarriage at 8 weeks - Trisomy 9

    October 2014 - Unsuccessful IUI

November 2014 - IUI month skipped due to cyst

    December 2014 - Unsuccessful IUI

January/February 2015 - Failed IVF (standard long protocol) - 7 eggs, 6 mature, 4 fertilized (ICSI), 0 made it to blast, 0 for testing

March/April 2015 - Microflare IVF protocol with HGH - 6 eggs, 6 mature, 5 fertilized (ICSI), 2 blasts for biopsy!

May/June 2015 - Microflare IVF protocol with HGH - 9 eggs, 6 mature, 5 fertilized (ICSI), 3 blasts for biopsy!

  • Hi ladies! Would live to join this check-in as I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow :) EDD is May 3 2016, expecting one little munchkin, and we'll find out if it's a boy or girl on December 11. Baby was conceived through IUI (Femara + Follistim) after a hysteroscopy (to correct slight t-shape uterus) and laparoscopy (stage 4 endometriosis).

I met with my doctor on Friday to get results from my NT scan. All looks good (NT is 1.9, baby was measuring a few days ahead), and I've been doing pretty good (nausea going down, energy going up). Next appointments (GP, OB and US) are all at the beginning of December.

Looking forward to getting to know you!

@CTinNV and @hopes4baby : have you tried Kegel exercises to strenghten your pelvic floor? That may not fix everything, but it's definitely supposed to help with the incontinence. If bad, it may be worth seeing a pelvic health physiotherapist. I've been seeing one for a little while because of the issues I had related to endometriosis. She's helped me woth pelvic floor issues, is helping now with whatever pains come up during pregnancy and will help prepare me for labor by showing me how to push (that should be interesting).
  • Welcome @KidShrink I will add you! So glad you're feeling better and that your scan was normal! Heres to the 2nd tri! <:-P

  • 24 weeks!! Viability!! Wow! This is the big one for me! Baby is kicking and it's wonderful!

Ladies! Do your kegels! They work! I felt like this baby girl was going to fall out she was so low and now it feels better. Seriously, I have to get ready before I sneeze! Lol! I have thrown my neck out of place by sneezing so now i have to clench the pee in, hold my belly (or it feels like a muscle being pulled) and sit up straight for my neck! I feel so crazy and old! And if you have a vaginal delivery it could become a permanent condition!

    Welcome @KidShrink!

  • I'm 21+ weeks and I sneezed this weekend and peed a little - enough to have to change my pants. Not 2 hours later I sneezed again and peed my pants again! Not a full pee, but definitely enough to have to change. Ugh. I started wearing pantyliners too. Really have to start those Kegels...!
  • I'm 27 weeks and my next appt is the 10th - just a routine check. I have to take the glucose test sometime this week. I've also had to buy larger pj's and am going to grow out of my maternity jeans at some point in my 3rd tri. I'm small and short waisted so this baby is all out in front. Yes, I have the peeing problem too and after having bronchitis for 6 weeks, I've learned to use the restroom more often.
  • 26+  going for GD test sometime this week. Tired. Sick. I have bronchitis, thanking the Lord OB was kind enough to through some ABX at me. Other than that, very uneventful... Can't believe we will be meeting baby girl in 89 days! Crazy, this pregnancy is flying by, but I figured it would since she's due right after the mad rush of the holidays.

  • @jeannaqueena : lol! I just learned a new word! Yay for pregnancy vocabulary!
On the topic, here's something that might be of interest: https://thepurplefig.com/3-key-first-steps-to-a-fast-post-baby-body-recovery/

Proper kegels are all about deep breathing while doing the kegels (i.e. When your diaphragm descends while breathing in, your pelvic floor expands; when breathing out, it contracts and comes back up. That way when you sneeze- breathing out- your pelvic floor contracts, hopefully preventing the now famous peeze ;)
