First beta really low

Hi ladies! I just ordered all of my IVF meds. Was waiting for my period and sure enough for my BFP...we were is shock!
Because of my past miscarriage and our fertility issues my dr wanted me to get my beta checked. I'm 4 weeks give or take a day or 2 my beta was only 20. I'm worried. Yesterday's FRER was lighter than today's but I was hoping for a higher beta! Any success stories with a low starting beta?

    Congrats!! My first beta was 16 at 12dpo, but by 14dpo was 67. I was told it's less about the value and more about the doubling time.. My RE was very optimistic and happy with the 67 at my second draw..

    I went in for my first ultrasound on Friday 10/30, and baby was measuring 6w5d with a heart rate of 135. My RE said I am right on track and baby is developing perfectly.

    Are you going back for a second beta? Keep us posted on those results!!

    One of my first betas was 35 I think at 13dpo (it's been 5 years and ended up as our first baby!) I would wait for the second beta and be hopeful! When I read low beta I was thinking 10 or less and those usually are too low.

    Cycle #9 Forced break due to cyst
    Cycle #10 follistem+ovidril+TI=BFN
    Cycle #11 follistem+ovidril+TI=BFN
    Cycle#12 Forced break due to cyst, went on BCP; did repeat HSG, Saline U/S
    Cycle #13 IVF: Follistim/Menapur ER 11-30 11 eggs, 5 mature, 4 fertilized and 3dt on 12-3; BFN
    Cycle #14: IVF#2 lupron/follistim/menopur ER 1-22, 19 eggs, 14 fertilized, 5dt on 1-27, BFP!! beta 1: 63, beta 2: 119; EDD 10-15-13; 1 frozen embie
    Miracle Surprise BFP, EDD 10-1-15; saw HB great Betas, 11weeks lost baby MC at home
    Moved forward with FET transfered solo frostie on 6-4-15, beta 1: 315, beta 2: 738, u/s showed one baby on track EDD 2-21-16

    I don't think your beta is too terribly low considering how early on it is. Good luck and let us know what the second beta is! Also, if your test is getting darker, that's a positive sign. No pun intended.

    Beta only went up 5? Why did I even get pregnant? This is so annoying. I was already to start IVF. Thanks for the encouraging posts! Hopefully I'll be on this board soon!

    Mine did the same last month . It was infuriating . It gave me some hope that I could get pregnant but felt like a sick game . I got so excited only to be immensely disappointed . Hugs !!

    @alexiskiriluk I'm so sorry.. Same has happened to me, low betas that eventually dropped. I found out I was pregnant on the due date of my miscarriage, and then a couple days later I lost that one too. It's bs.
    I needed meds to make a good egg, hopefully ivf brings your rainbow.

    Two years, two losses and three IUIs...

    We are having TRIPLETS!

    just had an appointment with my RE. They did an ultrasound and they think it may be ectopic. Jeez!!!

    @alexiskiriluk ugh I'm so sorry that sucks !

    Went in for my beta this morning . Waiting on results . Home test was yesterday and it was negative . I have same symptoms as my last chemical so im fearful of a low beta result . We shall see .

    @alexiskiriluk I got my period over the weekend ! Going in today to see if I'm ready to start my next round of meds before an IUI . How you doin ?

    I'm ok. I'm sorry that month was a bust for you!! I'm moving on to IVF. I feel like I was paying close to if not over 2k for an iui and getting nowhere. Just don't think it's going to work for me....I'm going to get brought the holidays and enjoy my family. I feel like I need to step back and take some down time. However, every month my eggs are getting older :-/
    How did your appointment go? Are you starting meds for another round this month?
