Anyone else planning to announce at Christmas?

Hello! I'm Ashley. My second kiddo is due mid-June, if we have calculated correctly. I know I am getting way ahead of myself, but I'm already Pinteresting cute ways to announce this pregnancy. We live 15 hours from family so the best time to announce it would be face to face, at Christmas. Anyone else doing this?

My immediate family already knows, & we're telling my in-laws next week. We have an extended family event on my side on Dec.19, & a friends Christmas event afterwards...we plan to announce that day with a shirt I'll be wearing. The next day we will post something on Facebook, but I haven't figured out just what. My best friend is a photographer so I'll likely recruit her to help, & we want to include our dog.
I'm hoping the time flies by!

My entire family already knows. We told them within a week of confirming the pregnancy. H's immediate family (mom, dad and siblings) already know, but we plan on announcing to the rest of his family and everyone else at Thanksgiving after my next OB appt.

We are doing the same thing. Not sure if wrote are going to make it down face to face so we might be skyping. We actually just moved away from our family 6 months ago so we know this is going to be happy and sad all at the same time.

Yesssss!! Announcing at Christmas sounds like so much fun! I'll be 16 weeks already by the time we announce but doing at Christmas will make such great memories!! Right now the plan is to have the grandma's to be open a gift about the baby!! Eeek!

when I was pregnant with our third we announced on Christmas. We took the ultrasound picture and put it in a little giftcard holder and gave it to our oldest son, when he pulled it out he was like what is this so we told him to bring it into the kitchen and ask grandma what it is. I have never heard my mil scream so loud and yell across the house omg your pregnant. Everyone was super excited for us.

This time we are announcing at thanksgiving, I have no idea what to do and we haven't told anyone yet.

I've been all over pintrest doing the same thing.  I've found a few Christmas cards I like- but we'll only be 13 weeks on Christmas- so it might still be a little early for us to announce yet.  This will be a rainbow baby for us and DH is a little worried about telling everyone- then having to update everyone if things go bad again.  But I really need something to look forward to- and not focus on being scared all the time.  We have our first scan next week- and we'll discuss again after the dr visit and if we are able to schedule our NT scan during week 12.  I don't want to announce until we have had two successful scans.

When we announce to the rest of H's family at Thanksgiving, I'm tempted to wear a shirt that says "Eating for Two" and see how long it takes anyone to notice  When we announce to the rest of the "world" I think we're going to take a family picture with our dog, and have a sign or something that says "Our next big adventure - starting June 2016" or something along those lines, since we're always talking about our adventures.

We'll be telling our extended family at Christmas (I'll be 14 weeks), my parents and in-laws already know. Not sure when we'll tell more than family, I have a family history of neural tube defects and the most accurate test for those isn't until 16 weeks at the earliest so we will likely be waiting until at least then to make a big announcement if not after the anatomy scan.

Either Thanksgiving or close to Christmas, depending on the results of the next ultrasound. My sister announced hers by wrapping up her ultrasound picture and giving it to my dad as a birthday gift (which is a few days before Christmas).

We announced our second at Christmas by changing our daughter into a "big sister" shirt. We'll be announcing our third this Christmas but haven't quite decided how.

I have a Christmas ornament that says "expecting baby M" that I'm going to put on the tree and take a picture of to announce. Need a cute thing to say to go with the pic though- any suggestions?

I'm not looking cute and DH hates pictures, so a photo shoot of my blump just isn't gonna happen!

My last baby was due 7/9/14. We announced at Christmas with a big sweatshirt that said: THREE MONTHS SOBER. I bought the letters at Walmart & ironed them on an old sweatshirt.

Sadly, my grandmother didn't get it & said something like, "Well that's nice." :P

With our DS, we had this big to do with Santa and everything, it was so fun and everyone cried, blah, blah, blah.  It was only two years ago, so I feel like I don't really want to take all the attention again.  Maybe this time, we'll do something more subtle, like a big brother t-shirt on my son.  I also like the Christmas card idea ...

We are planning on telling immediate families at Thanksgiving and extended families at Christmas.  We were going to announce it at Christmas, but neither of us like being in the spotlight, so we were thinking Christmas cards with something cute to let everybody know?  I just started looking into them, but most of them are too "mushy" and "sentimental"... I'm the type to send snarky/funny cards, so emotional cards are not my thing.  Either way, I'm just hoping for a little less attention at Christmas (wishful thinking, I'm sure).

I'll be 13 weeks but I don't want to announce too close to Christmas.  With infertility, holidays sucked so I don't want to add to someone else having a hard time at Christmas. 

Planning on telling immediate family after our first u/s and before Thanksgiving.  Telling local extended family at Thanksgiving.  Announcing to everyone else the week before Christmas probably.   This is all assuming everything is going ok.

I plan to try and wait until Thanksgiving to tell all of our family, but I don't think my husband can wait that long! I know he wouldn't wait till Christmas!

Pretty much exactly this. We always send out a funny/snarky card and I can't find any ideas that aren't completely cheesy to me.

I've seen some about trading silent nights for a bundle of joy.  Or "Ho, Ho, Oh" with a surprised face or the u/s pic or something.

We announced baby#2 at Christmas two years ago. We put DS1 in a white shirt with red letters that said "Only Child" on the front and "until July 2014" on the back. I'm pretty sure my MIL thought we were telling her that we were one and done for about 15 minutes. We had to make her read the back of his shirt. Everyone else got it pretty fast.

We've already told people this time around since its baby 3 and we have a good first scan. I'll wait for a FB announcement until after the anatomy scan just to be safe.

We are telling family at Thanksgiving and everyone else at Christmas. 

For Family:  We are doing our Christmas gift exchange (my parents are several states away so we wont actually see them at Christmas).  This year our letter is B--which works out well for us!  I am going to get a 3 photo frame and put my DD's picture in one, Nephews picture in the middle, and the last will be a coming June 2016.  I was going to do an ultrasound but our first appointment isn't until December

For everyone else:  This is still a work in progress and might change!!  There are just soooo many ideas it is hard to pick just one.  DH likes the idea of being sneaky though so I think we are going to have DD draw a family pic and have me with a big ol repugnant belly and wait for everyone to notice

@laurenm2123: I've seen a few "Santa isn't the only one coming to town!" announcements. A little cheesy but you could make it cute? 

@RNfromMN: OH MY GOSH. "Well that's nice." I'm dying. Sounds like something my snarky grandma would say.

We are a little different than everyone else it seems which might be because we're first-timers. We told our immediate families already and some extended family and majority of the rest will find out on Saturday. We wanted to tell everyone in person and we're just so excited.

At first I was thinking if anything happens I don't want to have to go around telling everyone but in all honesty our families are extremely supportive and I would need the support. Plus we thought it would be more people praying for our little munchkin. If something bad happens this time I am sure I would change my mind for next time but I'm praying everything turns out wonderfully.

I'm planning on announcing to my close family and friends at Thanksgiving (I'll be 10wks, 4 days) and everyone else around Christmas/Chanukah (14 or 15 weeks). I'm trying to plan a way to do it right, since, with our first, we just kind of blurted it out to everyone the moment we found out. Then, I had to hear advice from EVERYONE for the other 36 weeks (I went to 42 weeks). This time, I just want to do it properly.

We are announcing to extended family at thanksgiving (11 weeks) and the general population at christmas. We have two DS but had a miscarriage in june at 19 weeks, our DD. I have to have a cerclage 2 weeks before christmas at 14 ish weeks, so we are hesitant to share until we are at least in the 2nd trimester and past the surgery. I'm making a "rainbow baby" shirt to wear when we announce

Only our immediate family knows right now (we told them after our 8 week appointment). I think we'll tell our more extended family and friends around Thanksgiving, but we honestly might not do a public announcement until New Years or later (maybe at 20 weeks).

Perhaps it's because this is my second pregnancy, but I'm enjoying only a small group knowing.

I have my appointment on Thursday and I'm tellin my parents the weekend after when we will stay with them all weekend. She's watching my dogs this weekend because we are going to a wedding so I am telling her that I'm getting her a gift for that, but it's really an Alex and ani bracelet that says grandmother to go with her collection. Then we will tell DH's parents at Christmas. First grandkids on both sides so they deserve to be told in person. Then we'll do an announcement for other people at Christmas.

I plan on announcing to my parents,family and husbands family at Christmas. This is my parents first grandchild and I'm an only child. I can't wait to tell them! Still not sure how I'm going to do it though

I am also planning to announce at Christmas. This will be our first baby and I am an only child so my Mom is going to freak out...shes been waiting and I think gave up since I turned 35 this year. Ive only told my three best girlfriends (their hubbys), hubby and immediate supervisor (only because of doctors visits). No family till Christmas.

I'm going to have my dd wear a shirt that says 'big sister' and use it as our Christmas card picture this year.. Everyone will find out when they open their mail!

I've already told a few close friends and my mother in law (she was in town and I couldn't hide the nausea or sleep patterns). I'm planning to tell my parents on Thanksgiving - 12 weeks. I'll be in a different state from them so I'm sending them a little binder I put together with all the things we have to be thankful for this year. The last page, I'm putting a little onesie that says "You're going to be grandparents" in the last sheet protector. Hopefully they'll like it. I'm an only child and a FTM so my mom is going to lose her mind.

As far as the rest of the world, I've been trying to scout pinterest for Christmas related reveals since we'll probably tell everyone mid-December. Not sure what I'll go with yet. I really liked one I saw with two big stockings with a baby one in the middle that says "We've been naughty" haha.

We plan to announce to our immediate families on Thanksgiving, which I'll be 11 weeks by then. It's been so hard to keep it a secret from them, but we're worried our moms won't be able to keep it secret. Not sure how we'll do it yet, but searching for cute ideas.

We'll announce a week or 2 later publicly if everything is still looking good.

My family figured it out but we are planning on telling DH's family at the family Christmas party. We aren't going to do nothing special I will just wear a shirt saying "bun in the oven" or something along those lines and wait for people to read it lol.

We are waiting to announce at Christmas too! I was due June 30th with my 2nd and we announced then at Christmas with a picture of my husband holding my 1st DD + me = 4. This year, my family knows my girls love the Berenstein Bears books so I am going to wrap up the Berenstein book "And a Baby Makes FIve" and have them open it in front of everyone.

We've told a few family, but want to tell the rest of the family around Thanksgiving (12weeks). We plan to tell DH's family during the prayer at Thanksgiving, but I also have this family tree wall hanging for pictures and I thought it would be cute to put an ultrasound in the one in the middle with the due date.

I plan on announcing to extended family at Thaksgiving (which is at 13 weeks and after NT scan). Friends will be sometime soon thereafter. By Christmas I'll be 17 weeks and seeing that this is number 3, I'm sure I'll be showing.

We are another state away from our families so we are planning on telling everyone in person! Our parents first before Christmas and then our extended families at all of our Christmas parties! I don't know if I can wait that long to tell my mom though, hormones might get the best of me!

Our immediate family knows along with some friends. We'll probably start telling around Thanksgiving. My cousin just had her first baby on on the 12th of October so I want her to enjoy her time to glow. We took some family pictures with some announcements squeezed in. We may put one on the Christmas card for the extended family.

We already told our immediate families and I was thinking of telling friends and extended families that we will either see in person or on skype sometime between now and Christmas. Then for everyone else, we will tell them with the Christmas card. Sadly all of our family lives all over the country and we don't really get together for holidays anymore. So telling them all at once won't happen.

Yep, basically everyone knows already, but I'm planning my social media announcement. I've been wanting to get into stockings for our 1 year old. So I ordered stockings with Mom, Dad, DS1, and then a smaller stocking that says baby on it. We're going to take a pic of all of them lined up
