Help! How do you do it?

Hello fellow bumpmates! I'm bringing a dilemma to you today. I need help. I am 16 weeks pregnant and I have a single fibroid that's about 10x10 cm. yes... It's large. I've just been in SO much pain I can barely stand up straight. My doctor said its just because my muscles are stretching, but it feels more like tearing, and I still have so much nausea. I haven't gone a single day without getting sick. I have no appetite, so I'm having a hard time eating anything at all. What do I do?? I'm working about 60 hours a week and it's a struggle! I've already missed 6 days of work since I found out I was pregnant. I'm desperately searching for the light at the end of the tunnel, but I can't seem to find it. I'm tired, in a lot of pain, and desperate to have my regular appetite back. Anybody else feel the same?

Re: Help! How do you do it?

  • I can't speak to the fibroid part, but I can relate on the being sick part. I am 25 weeks and I still get sick. Over time, I found that I do go longer between episodes. Even now, with throwing up less, my appetite is not what it was before being pregnant. Its tough. I won't lie, sometimes I hate the people that say that pregnancy was "one of the most joyful experiences". Browse through some of the older posts on tips for morning sickness. Many of them I didn't find helpful but some did work. Plus, everyone is different. I also try to find the positive in it when I can, i.e., pregnancy has the been the most effective diet I've ever been on ;)

I did find that my energy started coming back around week 17-18. Hopefully you will find more energy soon.
Is there anyway you can cut back your hours a bit? 60 hours is a lot. I personally wouldn't want to work 60 even when not pregnant. Possibly try talking with your ob/midwife.

As for the light at the end of the tunnel, it is that sweet bundle of joy coming in approx 24 weeks. Smaller milestones before that, the anatomy scan. I had a really rough day MS-wise the day of my scan but after seeing my little girl, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. Also, when you start to feel lots of movement, thats pretty exciting too.

Hang in there. Hope you feel better soon.
