Other than projectnursery.com ?
I'm in designer mode and need ideas. :D

Re: Where do you go for nursery design inspiration?

  • I have been Pinteresting like crazy all day :D And found some great ideas! Just decided we will be going for a dinosaur themed nursery as DH is CRAZY about dinosaurs and we want to share it with our son

  • Pinterest, of course. I also looked at a lot nursery furniture/bedding websites (PBK, RH, BRU, land of nod, etc.) and pulled ideas from there.

  • Definitely Pinterest for my inspiration. I got the paint job idea from Pinterest and made it girly for DD (colors and glitter, yep, went there!) and found art ideas that I did DIY myself.

  • I picked our bedding and then found and re-created things I found on Etsy to go with it (mobile, wall art etc) instead of paying for them.
I'd look for bedding and/or rugs first since they're the biggest limiting factor. You can get sheets in just about any solid color and lots of patterns, but if you want a bedding set or a theme, make sure it exists before planning the rest of the room. I have a friend who got bit doing that - she really wanted a certain theme and found or made all these little details and then she realized the only bedding she could find in the theme was crazy expensive.

  • I'm old school. I use google images because I have no idea how to Pinterest
  • I just bought a few samples of tempaper, will start there then keep designing!
  • Im a pinterest addict so i used it for dd and am using it this time too. You get lots of ideas and then once i find something i like I'll usually go to BRU to check what they have thats in that theme. Worked well last time so I'm doing it again.

  • Houzz has some good ideas
  • Houzz.com ! I used the website when we built our home for inspiration and products. I'm obsessed
  • Pinterest! If you type in "Bohemian Nursery" there are some wonderful ideas of nurseries that don't look too babyish. I'm not into nurseries that have baby animals etc.
  • I'm more into pinning stuff for my son's big boy room right now! I think we're gonna keep the nursery the same since we're having another baby boy and instead move my son and decorate his big boy room together.

  • I started with a theme we liked for DD (woodland) and then we talked about how/what color(s) we wanted to paint (stenciled an entire wall floor to ceiling with trees). As we completed one thing we thought about what else seemed to be missing. Pictures on the wall? Shelves? The only thing I used Pinterest and etsy for was mobile ideas

  • I tried so hard to find a gif for this, but couldn't. There's a scene in Scott Pilgrim vs The World were he goes "oh... What's that from?" And she screams "My Brain!" (Would have been funny... Now I just feel sad :-B )
  • Pinterest is amazing for collecting snippets of inspiration and items you love. I've taken my Pinterest inspiration, combined with the actual items on my registry to make this sort of collage of what our nursery will look like for our little girl... Walls are beige with a reclaimed barn wood accent wall (barn wood from DH's family ranch). We wanted to go with something neutral with pops of color (now is yellow, coral, and green)... so that as she grows up we can change, but have a good base.
