Why is my LO not talking as much

My son was talking early on and now between weeks 13 & 14, he isn't nearly talking as much. He's still very alert, smiling and giggling often... So what gives? Has this happened to any of you?

Yep! I have such cute videos of him talking away at his daddy's picture....and now at 15 weeks- barely anything! Still smiles and growls, but not as much "talking".....maybe it's a phase....

Same!! I thought it was weird too. I tell her every morning, "why aren't you talking to me anymore?" Thank you for posting this, it was making me a little sad lol.

I finally just googled it (duh) lol. Apparently, babies stop talking while they are mastering a new skill. Once it's mastered, they will start up again. Whew! Looks like we have some new skills to look for @kimberlylena & @nmfranklin00

Yep. If you look at the Wonder Weeks stuff there's a leap that starts around 14 weeks and not talking as much is a sign of it.

Happened to me too. The new skill she is focused on now is grabbing toys and eating them
