@mrspepper05 we're not even carving pumpkins this year. I hate Halloween as well. We'll do a few houses but that's it. Just move me on to Thanksgiving please!!

Yep, no pumpkins here either. We did it last year and my kids were interested for about 5 minutes, my husband finished the carving, then I had to clean up the huge mess. Not worth it.

Here's one for you - I'm not a big fan of candy either. Not the typical Halloween candy. Now give me Lindt Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffles, now we're talking. I'm a candy snob!

Oh my. Can't get on board with you there. I keep telling myself trick or treating in the rain will be worth it for all the candy I can steal out of my girls' buckets. :-)

We don't do Halloween at all. Mainly because we're in the country but even if we weren't I just don't trust people these days. I'll stay at home with my Frito chili pies, cuddle and watch movies comfortably on my couch with all the kids

I think the teal pumpkin project is stupid. I'm sorry, but I'm giving out something for free when your kid comes to my door, why is it on me to make sure your kid doesn't die. That's on you as a parent, if your peanut allergy kid stuffs a Reese's in their mouth, then you should have taught them to check. When my nephew was thought to have celiacs he was like 3 and he asked about everything he ate. Thank God he doesn't have it, but still not my issue.

We aren't doing Halloween this year as we have visitors! Yay!
I like the teal pumpkin. It's a nice and optional gesture. It's still on the parents to screen candy (regardless of whether they have allergies and other issues), but I'm sure struggling parents are happy to see some solidarity/support.
As someone who has food allergies (and other) overly militant parents about food allergies and preferences piss me off. I know I can't eat sometimes but that doesn't mean I make a whole ordeal about it... I carry a few things I can eat in case it happens and I get hungry. Also if you are the asshole adult like this grow the fuck up... you won't starve skipping a meal and eating later when you can.

Agreed, @MrsLeanMeanClean if you have a food allergy you learn early on to eat before you go to parties, bring snacks, and always bring at least one dish you can partake of.

Not completely related: I have trouble not rolling my eyes when vegans get upset about not being accommodated at a function. I know I shouldn't, but I can't help myself. Maybe it's backlash from living with a vegan and hearing about it all the time.
I think the teal pumpkin idea is sweet for those who can or choose to offer. I think the thought behind it is people want their children to have the opportunity to feel normal and not have to fret during activities so special as trick or treating - especially when there are factors parents can't control (I mean, I'd feel like a dick no matter the circumstances if I had to take away candy from my LO). It's a nice gesture for households to do, but that's it really, just a gesture.

UO: I'm not a fan of my baby boy rolling around in my belly. It always happens in the morning when i lay on my back and stretch out. Its a very strange feeling and he always manages to roll into my bladder. Don't get me wrong I LOVE feeling kicks and pokes and that he's healthy but my belly looking like it is being pulled in random alien directions is not cool.
I'm not a fan of most of the baby-movement at all. It's just so bizarre and disconcerting to me! I try to enjoy it some now and then, but mostly it honestly just really weirds me out. The only time it's fun is when hubs or kids get to feel and be excited that they can feel baby too.

My UO is that I don't like telling people I am pregnant. I guess I am a little socially awkward, but I just find it so uncomfortable to share the news with people I am not SUPER close with.
I guess this is as good a thread as any, @oceanchild!
UO: AWs aka me right now lol....I went a little cheap and just printed the stuff out instead of buying the iron on stuff and a red shirt that I would never use again, but it turned out ok. Only about half of the people "got" it, even though I am letting my bump show freely!
Really?! Only half the people got it?! You look so so great!
Yeah my supervisor was like "You're spaghetti sauce...cool I guess" and another coworker said "she's not just spaghetti sauce she is PREGGO" and it STILL took her a few seconds after that. I guess I work with very literal people haha. And thank you!!! :x

I completely agree. I am a very private and non-social person. I will gush about my dogs until the entire world avoids me but personal things like pregnancy isn't a conversation I want to really have unless we're close. Partly because I REALLY don't want advice or their personal stories, etc. I never know how to respond to them and it's just terribly awkward.
I know loving the cold weather is a UO but it's finally starting to quit being so hot here. Tomorrow our high is 54 degrees and it's suppose to rain all day. I'm so freakin excited right now! Lol. All I can say is bring. It. On. Winter! I'm ready!!!
