Lately, my LO doesn't like to sleep during the day. We try focusing on naps during the day but it's so hard for him to sleep. Nighttime is rough too. Anyone else in the same boat?
Yes! It has been such a struggle to get my LO to nap during the day. She seems to do best when I lay with her, but I do not want to start that habit. Night is iffy - some nights she'll only wake up once, but other nights it's 2-4 times. I believe she is teething so I'm sure that has something to do with all of it, but I'm wondering when she'll begin sleeping through the night.
Could your LOs be teething? I went through that with my lo, still am actually and it's worse, but today i found a tooth and now it all makes sense! My mum told me it should get easier cause she's done cutting for a while but i'll also ask the doctor at her 6 months appt
I'm happy to know I am not alone! It seems everyone I talk to gushes that their baby has been sleeping through the night for a while now which is super frustrating for a mom like me that has never had that miracle! Usually she goes down at 9pm and will sleep for 3-4 hour stretches but now she's up every hour and will not go back down unless she lays with one of us. I find she sleeps best after 3am but getting to that point is brutal! Friends/family say it's just a phase and it will return to normal soon. Fingers crossed!
My son sleeps so much better if he gets some time outside. A simple walk around the neighborhood usually does the trick but the vitamin d helps with sleep.

My six-month-old has never slept through the night. He used to sleep 3.5-2.5-1-1-1, at around three months (the 1-1-1 in the morning was killer), and now he sleeps 4--2.5--4--1, i.e. he still wakes three times a night to eat. I know he's hungry, and I know it's not habit because some nights he only wakes twice, and some four, and it's related to how much he ate before bedtime and how well he napped that day.
His sleep is lengthening but very gradually and there are still some bad nights, especially when he's teething. I figure he might drop another feeding by nine months, and I'm not really expecting him to drop to a single feeding per night until he's a year old. He's just a light sleeper and eats frequently.
My daughter was sleeping 4 hour stretches, waking twice through the night...until she began teething. Now she wakes frequently, is fussy, and finally sleeps after lying next to me. You are not alone. She has her bottom two teeth now. I guess I was wrong in thinking teething would get better after they actually came through?? Anyone?
Yep. LO is 6 months and has never slept thru the night. I think the most he's every slept straight is 6.5 hours back when he was 2 or 3 months old. Usually now we get a 3-4 hour stretch (with sometimes 1 quick wake up with an hour of going down), then 2, then 2 then 1, then he's up at 6am. No advice other than to continually hope it gets better soon, lol.
My son is 5 now but when he was a baby he was a great sleeper never woke up in the middle of the night I guess you can say I got lucky.but all babies are different. I have a friend till this day none of her younger ones sleep through the night they are 8 7 4 3 almost 2.
Same here. The longest stretch has been 5 (glorious) hours, but the norm is 3-4 then 2's. We've recent had some rough nights with teething where he's up every hour. My older 2 didn't sleep through the night until 12 months so I don't expect it any time soon.
I'm so glad to read that other babies are not sleeping through the night yet. My daughter usually wakes up about 2-3 hours after we put her down, then every 3-4 hours after that. We typically do 2 feedings after she's asleep. Everyone I know always makes a point to say that they can't believe she isn't sleeping through yet (and they make me feel like I'm doing something wrong) but she's probably just not ready yet. Thank you to all who commented!
My LO wakes every 3-4 hours. In the mornings (after 4am), I can ignore him and he'll put himself to sleep, but the earlier times he seems to need a good feed.

Sometimes now she will wake around 3 but I just shove her dummy back in her mouth and she goes back to sleep
