Sharp Cramps in the Groin

Does anyone else have sudden sharp cramps in the groin area? This just started last week. It can be so bad it takes my breath away. I'm almost 35 weeks. I'm not sure what is causing the sudden sharp cramps.

Depending on location and whether or not it's your only symptom, I'd say it could be either round ligament pain, or lightning crotch.

I had it and it was round ligament pain. Lasted a few weeks but much better now.

I'm almost 35 weeks too and i've had those all weekend. It got better if i drunk more water and laid down.

Yep probably RLP. Drink plenty of water and lay down and rest.

My eyes first saw this as, "It got better if I got drunk and laid down." hehe

" takes my breath away " makes me think lightning crotch… But since I've never had it wouldn't know.

I've had this pain since beginning of 2nd trimester.  It's awful!  I can barely walk half the time.  It's not quite as bad now but definitely still there.  Hang in there...

Baby is coming down.  The pressure is what gets me, and yes the sudden "lightning crotch" is so much fun. It made my knees buckle.

Thank you ladies. I've been struggling with pelvic pain/pressure for awhile now. My dr. said my cartilage is thinning out. Then I developed a varicose vein in my lady part area. I was thinking the pain was because she was starting to come down too. It's like a charlie horse in my groin/inner thigh.

Yes! I'm just about 35 weeks and this has just started happening to me. Lightening crotch from baby sitting lower. I know she's head down and has dropped and I remember going through this with DD. Such fun!

Same here! Like PP I'm almost 35 weeks and had the same thing happen starting yesterday. I have ligament pain when I stand up. This is sharp and quick and happens when I am walking around.

I'm guessing lightning crotch.  I've had it several times in the last few weeks and an ultrasound today confirmed that baby is turned head down now, so I think it's just the extra pressure on nerves down there.  I've had a few that take my breath away but they usually only last for a few moments and they always go away if I lay down and let the baby shift.
