Showers make me sick

Hi everyone, I've been having issues taking showers, even when I have the water on warm I still get sick. Anyone else have this issue?

Re: Showers make me sick

  • Well...im pretty much sick all the time, but I have noticed that I do dread the shower!! And I make them quick! So ya...now that I think about it....its probably because showers make me feel even more terrible!!! So yes!! I suppose I do have this issue! lol

  • Yep! Standing and being warm/hot--it's a terrible combination for me! I try to keep my showers short and only wash my hair when it's absolutely necessary :)
  • Me too. All 3 of my pregnancies I've had this problem. I generally end up sitting on the shower floor trying not to puke. If I stand I get dizzy....but I only get dizzy in the shower...go figure.
  • With my first pregnancy, I had to have a glass of water within 15-20 minutes before taking a shower or else I would have the same issue.

  • When I first read the title I thought you were talking about baby showers.

  • Ugh, I have this problem as well. And I LOVE a good hot shower. I had to switch the baths for the few weeks my morning sickness was at an all time high.

Ha, me too, I was about to pull up a chair and get my popcorn ready!
  • I thought I was alone! When I brought it up during my early pregnancy class the teacher didn't really have much to say about it. I cut my showers to about every other day and try to keep it as short as possible (which is actually probably pretty good since California is in a huge drought right now).

I have turned the temperature down and I make sure to keep the shower door cracked, the fan going, as well as having the window and door open so that I can get enough cool air. If I don't then I definitely will vomit the minute I turn the shower off.
  • Nope, you are not alone! My first pregnancy my husband and I called it "Shower Death" because I would feel like I was dying and had to lay down for a half an hour after.  I finally got to the point where I would not take a shower unless he was home just to be on the safe side.

It hasn't happened yet but I am awaiting the return of shower death in the second trimester..... dun dun dun..
