Formula issues

Any other Mommys having issues finding a formula that works for your baby? My little guy is 3 weeks old. Very fussy, gassy, spits up a lot and now has started to get a rash on his face! He is on similac sensitive. Seems really hungry all the time too. Help!

Re: Formula issues

  • A nurse told me that the sensitive formula has less calories per ounce than the regular formula. So babies on the sensitive tend to eat more. Could be why your baby seems to be hungry more. Fun fact.

Have you talked to your ped about this? The rash would have me concerned. Have you tried other types of formulas? Gripe water/has drops?

  • This morning after being up all night with a very uncomfortable screaming baby, I tried similac soy. It seemed to calm him immediately. Still spitting after but is so much happier. I'm hoping this is the answer?
  • I had this same issue, but my lo isn't quite 2 weeks old. We tried two enfamil types and Similac and neither helped. She actually was admitted to the nicu at 4 days old for high biliruben levels and she had to have a good bit of iv fluids due to being dehydrated. She was eating but spitting up so much and wouldn't breastfeed that she got really dehydrated. I felt horrible. We finally tried enfamil gentlease and it has been SO much better for her. I want to try the enfamil AR, because she's still spitting up, even though it's better than it was, so I called enfamil and they're sending me a sample can.

I'm glad you found one that seems to be working better!
