Known adoption

Hello everyone,  I've been around TB for quite sometime and have been through a ton as have most of you.  My amazing life-long friend and her husband have decided they are having a child and are going to allow us to adopt.  I just found out yesterday that she is expecting (4w1d according to O).  We are having tons of mixed feelings right now.  I'm just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation?

Just to give a little history, I am a cancer survivor.  We've done multiple treatments and can't get a mature follicle.  We've also done an endometrial function test and determined that my UTE lining doesn't mature.  We've tried donor embryos but of course failed.  Done medicated IUI/IVF but failed.  We can't afford an agency adoption and were at a loss until this came up about a year ago.  I'm glad to be back around here and am excited to start connecting with people again on the board.  I hope I am welcomed, I know this isn't a normal adoption situation.

Me and my partner are adopting my sisters baby. So I am in a similar situation though she didn't get pregnant on purpose. My sister already has a 1 year old daughter she can barely take care of because she is a single mother so she decided to let me adopt it since I myself have pcos so I would have trouble conceiving if I was with a man. It is still emotional though because even though she is my sister she could still change her mind. If you ever want to talk I always on here.

She did get pregnant on purpose but she is only 4-5 wks along.  She has a 1 year old too, birthday was on 10/2.  It's an emotional rollercoaster that's for sure.

Maybe it will be easier since they already have a child.
