Second Degree tears- ignore. Sorry for duplicate!

Anyone out there with second degree tears or more that can offer advice/best practices to heal?

I'm doing all of the hospital care instructions: water rinse and tucks but I'm pretty sore. I'm also on Motrin. It still hurts to cough/ laugh etc and between this and the spinal headache, struggling.

Anyone out there discover relief yet?

  • I had a 2nd perinieum tear and my labia tore in half. I'm 3 weeks pp and is much better now but definitely not 100 %. I took ibprophin regularly and used the tucks pads with episooth, but nothing really helped. The itching part of healing was pretty uncomfortable.

  • Anytime you have an extra minute put an inch of warm water in the tub with epsom salts and splash your stitches. Sit on a pillow and ice at night. I also took 1 Tylenol and 1 advil when needed. Advil helps with swelling and Tylenol helps with pain.

I used the water bottle but preferred a little bath over the bottle. Im two weeks PP today and feel good!

Thank you! I've stopped using the ice but maybe need to bring that back! I'm having trouble keeping the area dry. I can only take gentle patting and it always feels kind of wet :/

    Thank you so much!

  • Dermaplast spray (doesn't help you heal, but helps numb the pain temporarily).

Also, aloe and witch hazel on the thickest, most cotton-y pads you can find (not the fancy, ultra thin ones that suck all the moisture to the core) put in the freezer.

Earth Mama also makes tea bags that you can make a tea (not for drinking) with and freeze the tea bags. I put the tea in my peri bottle and got the tea bags icy and put them in my underwear. Has lots of soothing, healing herbs. Got it on Amazon.
  • Anyone had a 4th degree test still experiencing bleeding 2 weeks pp ? My bleeding let up then today was way worse wondering if I tore a stitch or something ?
  • I had 2nd degree tearing and I can still tell I'm healing 12 days later. Hospital gave me tucks and some cream to put on pads. Stopped with the tucks a week ago. Ran out of cream a few days ago. Was taking warm Epsom salt baths for a week and a half. Still bleeding and feel cramps every once in awhile. I still use the spray bottle everyone I go to the bathroom. Only use toilet paper when I poo and am very careful. I don't know where exactly my stitches are but do not want to give myself issues with them.
