Talk to your doctor. They will give you an antibiotic that is safe for pregnancy. It needs to be treated though because vaginal and urinary tract infections can increase the chance of miscarriage.

  • Yes - my doctor said I could take an antibiotic now or if I felt more comfortable (and b/c I have such mild sumptoms) I could wait until the 2nd trimester. I am going to wait. Just curious if there are any other moms out there who have gone through something similar. This is baby #2 and I never had this with #1.
  • I took meds for BV last pregnancy. Perfectly safe, and definitely need to take it in 2nd Tri because BV is known to cause premature labor. Talk to your OB.

  • My dr THINKS I have it. I had some bleeding today along with some other gross symptoms so they had me come on for an ultrasound.. Then the dr got all huffy because someone decided to do the ultrasound first which meant i was full of ky jelly and she couldn't take a swab. SO, I'll be back next week to get checked and most probably pick up my antibiotic.
Had it last pregnancy and it was no big deal. Just had to take an antibiotic.
