Hi there, Im new to this group...34 yr old female ...low amh levels...I am on my second level of climid...and have gained 8 lbs...(couldn't afford that)

I am having some side effects, nothing to horrible and definitely worth it but I am curious as to what symptoms others have?

I have also gained a few lbs on Clomid (on day 4 of my second round now.) I'm not sure if it's the stress or the pills making me hungrier. I've had some mild headache as well but no other big side effects this cycle- last cycle I was super moody after finishing the 5 days of clomid.

After my first cycle with Clomid (last cycle) I had headaches, not sure if they were related, as I was also under stress from work etc., and I felt bloated--even more so after doing the Ovidrel trigger.  I treated myself to some new work clothes in a bigger size, because I figured I might as well try to make myself feel good/confident as best I can, and wearing a suit with tight pants was really not working for me.

I went back and forth between insatiable hunger and nausea/heartburn for the five days I was on Clomid. Both symptoms seem to have eased once my round was over. Not sure about weight gain, because I won't go near a scale these days! Lol!

So after each round of clomid i go in for a vaginal ultrasound but they don't check anything else...just the amount/size of eggs--should they be checking levels? I see a whole lot of people discussing that....also I just read that you can only take climid 6 times in your life, I was never made aware of that either

I had clomid twice.  The first round I was super moody and had bad headaches.  The second time I've just been super tired. I only had ultrasounds to check the size of the follicles.  We didn't have any additional blood work.  I did have a CD3 day blood work done during my first cycle, beyond that I haven't had any blood work.

Maybe too personal if so please ignore...everything I'm reading on here people are going in for blood work and level checks after clomid and my RE does a vaginal ultra sound so see how many/size of eggs and then the trigger shot....but no other tests..it sounds like we are at the same time frame as I just finished my 2nd round and am now 9 days from period   I also was never told that you can only do 6 rounds of clomid in your life...curious if your RE let you know that?

I am a 35 years old and just finished my first cycle with clomid (been TTC for three years).  I had to take a 50mg dose day 5-9 and then had to take a 100mg dose day 14-18 because I didn't have any mature follicles yet.  Luckily when I went back from my u/s after the 100mg round, I had one good follicle. 

It appears I just ovulated (taking my basil body temp daily).  But clomid has also made me gain some weight, given me horrible hot flashes at night and then occasional headaches (especially when I doubled the dosage).  

Glad I don't have to take anymore this cycle and hopefully never again  But worth it of course!

Yes, Estradoil levels are also important as they correlate to mature follicles.  I had 4-5 mature follicles so we considered canceling an IUI cycle.  However, my Estradoil was under 800 so that indicates 3-4 mature follicles (each mature follicles gives off 200).  

Also, most REs might not tell you directly that 6 is your max, but it seems common around here that most REs switch things up after 3 times.  If they aren't maybe you should ask.  If 3 rounds of Clomid aren't working (or 3 rounds of anything), maybe you should ask for something different.  I have responded great to all my medication, but my doctor will switch up the meds after 3 rounds no matter what.  Generally, odds are if x combination of drugs is going to work, it will work in the first 3 times you use it.  Your odds go down after 3.

This is great information, I just trusted he knew a lot better than me....I will definitely be bringing that up....if of course, I need to :P  If this cycle does not work they found a pollup during this test and although small think I should have it removed, which means surgery and a month of no trying. It didn't show up in any of the other invasive testing...reading on here I have found several people have developed them from the clomid....Thank you for taking the time to share!
