is it possible that baby is scratching me from the inside?

I feel silly for asking, but for the past few days my baby boy has been causing me sharp pain. I am as of today 35 weeks, he is head down. The sharp pain is where is arms and hands are. I feel the pain every once in a while when he moves his hands or arms. I am really sure he is scratching me but I've never heard of it happening to anyone else before. Should I be worried?

I don't think there is a need to worry but would call your dr just to see what he thinks.

I wouldn't be worried. If you are really concerned call your doc office. It's normal to have aches and pains given how our bodies change to accommodate a lil human.

I mean, our babies DO have nails, but I can't imagine them doing much harm. Some of my LO's jabs & kicks have been pretty painful, but I think that has more to do with her beating up my insides, than her nails causing damage.

I could be wrong, but I think the placenta would protect you from scratches.

You could be bruised internally.  It feels like a burning pain.

I would think the amniotic sac would get scratched before you would.  I have a burning pain in my upper abdomen when he moves and pushes.  It's from the abdominal muscles stretching/separating.

I'd vote you'd be more likely to feel baby pinching something than actually scratching. I'm curious to see what you dr says.

Or what PP said about your muscles stretching and seperating. That can really hurt.
