Anyone think your water broke or that you are leaking fluid

Only to be checked and told you peed your pants. I guess if that's what the doc says, but it sure didn't feel like I peed my pants? I had just peed 10 minutes before hand? And I peed like 5 minutes after? I'm positive GBS, so I went to L&D just to check. But still I swear I didn't pee! Lol. Can anyone relate?

Yeah except they told me it was discharge...never had discharge come out like that

I was standing at the sink doing the dishes and it just came out I thought my waters had broken but after putting in a pad and monitoring and no more coming out I decided I peed myself or it was discharge lol u have to laugh or u will cry! Oh the joys of pregnancy

Lol-I haven't had anymore either-wish I could of waited it out-but with positive GBS it just didn't seem like a good idea! Weird how shit just runs out of you! Lol

i've had that happen a few times to me recently. i feel like if my water genuinely breaks to start my labor with this baby i'll not even know how to react because i might think i just peed myself again.

That happened with DD and when I got checked out at L&D it turned out I was having contractions. So even though I wasn't leaking, it was still a good think I checked out. So if you're ever in question it always good to go ahead and get checked out!

Lol.  All those who are shocked that they can just suddenly pee themselves with no warning, just wait.  It's even more fun after baby and you're banged up, bruised, and possibly medically numbed down there.

This happened to me, a couple of minutes after I went pee, I felt something leak out... I monitored it to see if it happened again. It didn't, but later that night I was having contractions. I called my midwife and explained what had happened, she said it was most likely access pee.

When my water broke with my first I literally heard a popping sound, it was so strange and then there was a gush of liquid.  I didn't stop leaking all the way to the hospital.  I know it's different for everyone, but that was my experience

A friend of mine did. She ending up dragging her toddler to L&D with her to get checked and it was just pee. Even though she had just gone and she had a couple of gushes.

I think our minds and bodies just like playing tricks on us at the end.

Had this happen too so last time when my water did break I was in total denial just kept changing the pad. But everything worked out ok.

Yep. Went in today. I had a weird cramp, stood up, felt wet. Went to the bathroom and I had leaked through underwear to pants. They didn't say it was pee but it wasn't amniotic fluid but thought I hadLee than normal discharge, possible yeast infection.

Yep. When I had DS I went to the hospital thinking my water broke. They checked me, told me it was either pee or discharge, and told me to head home. As I was walking out of the hospital- SPLASH- my water broke. I turned around and headed right back to labor and delivery.

When my water broke with DS I honesty did not know if my water broke or I peed myself. I put on a pad and laid down, when I got up again I felt a small gush again and was pretty sure it was my water, but I laid down and stood up a few more times just to be sure. I totally understand how the two can be confussed.

Haha you showed them!!! Did they then change their minds and say it may have been a slow leak before the dam broke?

With my first I was walking the dog around the neighborhood when I suddenly felt extremely wet down there. I came home, changed, and tried to relax with my feet up. I continued to leak through my underwear. I then went to my OB office where a NP told me the swab was negative for amniotic fluid and that the baby was so high (and I was not dilated or effaced at all) that I was no where near "go time". Six hours later I was in full blown labor at the hospital where they found my water was indeed leaking. 14 hrs later I had a baby in my arms at 39 weeks 5 days ☺

No! They tested whatever was originally coming out with litmus paper and it didn't read as amniotic fluid! My mind is still boggled by it to this day!

With my first I swore I had just peed my pants getting out of the car went to the bathroom changed clothes stood up and had leaking this went on three different times and my DH was like are you sure it's pee lol. We went in to L&d and found out little man had punctured the waters but was blocking the hole with his head so everytime he moved his head a little would leak out just like pee. I remember feeling so silly cause I just knew I was peeing myself. Gotta love the strange things our bodies do during pregnancy

Yes.. Might be tmi but every night i get fairly heavy discharge and to top it off I sweat but only like the lower half of my body(weird 3rd tri thing that started)...so almost every night I wake up and pat myself down and go check everything because my body has a cruel sense of humor it seems...

TMI Warning....

OK so this thread reminded me of a moment after delivering DS.  I elected to receive an epidural which worked wonders.  Suffice it to say, the medical team is quite careful with you following delivery to ensure your safety and help you get about since you're still numb and wobbly.  Well they brought me down to my recovery room and I felt the urge to pee.  I told the nurse who instructed me to wait for her so that she could  help me to the bathroom since I was still wobbly.  She took my arm and began guiding me when I gushed blood.  I freaked out and said "Oh my god! I'm hemorrhaging!"  She laughed and said "No sweetie.  You just peed yourself.  There is just blood from the delivery mixing with the urine on the way down. Let me get you to the bathroom and I'll clean this up".  #1 Nurses are just amazing people - the stuff they deal with!  #2  DH couldn't stop laughing and will never let me live that down.  Hey man... I just pushed out a 9lb bowling ball from my lady bits.  Give me a break.

I haven't had to actually worry about whether some fluid is pee or my water, but I'm a bit paranoid about it. Largely because my husband thinks it'd be so funny if I thought my water broke but I actually just peed myself and tells me that he would tell everyone about it. So now I feel like if my water does break I'm really going to doubt and question it for fear of going to the hospital with a case of pee pants.

I had a moment early this morning when I thought my water might of leaked! Ya no I peed a bit, so not cool when it's 5am and you just slightly peed your pants in bed....

Ummm yes!!!! I was in the OR and sneezed and felt a huge gush (like an amount that would be of concern not just a bit) I ran to L&D after the case and got an amino test... Def peed myself lol I'd gone the entire pregnancy without losing control of my bladder and apparently week 35 broke me ugh!

2 nights ago, I was sitting on my birthday ball due to hip pain and chugging water at the same time. Wasn't a good idea to start bouncing, I suppose. Totally thought my water broke cause I have never peed myself without the actually feeling of having to pee, but yeah, definitely peed lol.

In my last pregnancy my son was on my lap and I jumped up screaming as I felt hot water trickling down my legs. I was about 36 weeks.


Took me around five minutes to realise that actually my then 2 year old son had got his nappy off and weed down my leg!!!!

This happened to me on our anniversary (sept. 3), and my doctors office told me to go to L&D, so we spent hours sitting there on our anniversary night to find out that id peed myself. Totally romantic.

I've had a couple of "scares" now... My doctor gave me the litmus paper on Tuesday and I used it this morning. A little part of it turned blue, I panicked and shoved the whole piece of paper up there (sorry for TMI)... Anyways, when I took it back out it was completely yellow. I am currently waiting to hear back from my doctor. Kindof feeling like an idiot, but better to be safe than sorry and make the call... Right?!

Yes! This has happened to me! Seems like the slightest trickle of water (not pee) causing me to need to change. But there aren't any other signs! Very frustrating! I hope when labor actually does start, it will be obvious.
