Feeling pressure and pain when I get up or move around like in my pelvic and I was wondering if this means I'm close to labor I'm 34 weeks or is the baby just dropping lower

  • You're going to feel like that for a while.  It sucks and there is nothing you can do to make it any better.  It does not mean you are close to labor, it means your pelvis is stretching, bones are separating.  Fun huh?  I have been feeling like this since 28 weeks and am 37+1 now.

  • That's the LO dropping! I started to feel this when I hit 29 weeks 5 days. And I'm at the start of 31 weeks today! I SWEAR the cramps and aches, for the Lower Muscles and Pelvic areas, are WORSE than the cramps and aches from a period! @-) Ugh!
  • I am 34 weeks and I been feeling the same for weeks now and it keeps getting worse, doctor says it's normal and not much I can do about it. She suggested that I use a maternity belt but the pain is still pretty bad, it even hurts to walk.
  • Yeah I sleep closest to the wall and getting off the bed sucks
  • I had such bad pain that I walked like a cowboy after getting out of bed! What helped was when I went to a chiropractor. Turns out my left hip was over rotated and my tailbone was not in place. Since then it's been so much better. Still some pressure but no crippling pain like it was!
  • I have a lot of pain in my tail bone to so I'll have to look into that

Me too! I every time I have to sit down it almost makes me cry.  I can't stand sitting anymore. It's painful.
  • Luckily mine isn't that bad it's just noticeable
  • I often get kicked in the cervix, but that was when I was a little earlier on (27/28 weeks) and I think my baby had more room to roll about. He's very active. I'm now 30 weeks and I'm carrying him low, but the kicks to the cervix have stopped (for the moment!) so I think he may be head down. If you're concerned definitely go and make an appointment with your midwife, they're there to help :) good luck x
  • I've been dealing with PGP or SPD for the past several weeks- it sounds very much like what you're describing. My OB wants me to wear a hip binder/pregnancy belt to see if it will help. I'm 32 weeks and this is my second. I never had any pain in my first pregnancy even with preeclampsia, so it was very nerve wracking at first. Turning with your legs bent together and using legs together first to get out of bed helps for sleep/getting up- other than that, it's just weeks of ouch ahead for me :) good luck!
