2nd c-section recover

Hi ladies! I wish I had come to this board alot sooner!  I'm due with my 2nd in February and I'll be having my 2nd c-section.  With my first I had high amniotic fluid, they tried to induce, she turned breech and they did a csection.  Soooo I've got two questions for any moms who've been there with 2 c-sections already.  One, how fast is the recovery time after?  Would you say its quicker or slower?  Also, I have the options of having my sister and my husband home with me after baby arrives.  Do I need two people around since I have a 2 yr old in the house, or would you say one is sufficient?  Thanks!!!

I had my 2nd c-section last October. Recovery went a lot smoother because I was able to prepare for it, and I knew what it would be like. I think the hardest part was not being able to pick my son up (who was only 16 months at the time). While my husband and I made it work just fine on our own, it was a lot easier when my MIL was here. Having two people to watch both kids made things a lot easier on everyone while we adjusted to having two little ones

Just had my second on 9/23. Like PP, I'd say recovery was easier. Probably a combo of knowing what to expect and planned c vs emergency.

In terms of having more help, I'd say it depends on age and temperament of your older child. My big girl is almost 4 and very mild mannered. I was able to explain to her about my 'cut' and surgery and she understood to be gentle and why I couldn't do certain things. If your younger needs more attention, will probably be super helpful to have the extra support. I was home alone with both kiddos a week after delivery (4-ish) days after leaving the hospital. So depending on how your surgery goes, it's totally doable!

Just had my 2nd section in July this year and had a 17 month old at home. Recovery easier, bounced back quickly. It did help to have someone with me to help with the toddler. My husband took off the first week, my mom and sister the 2nd week and MIL the 3rd. I was on my own after that, but by that point I was picking up DS1 occasionally and felt ok with it.
