TEF dialation baby, I need help. Anyone out there?

Okay so my baby won't eat for me. Is anyone else having this issue because it's getting really frustrating. He went from eating his milk and stage ones to not wanting to eat for me. But will eat for dad.

Extra info: he had his esophagus dialated 2 days ago and is now back on meds for reflux and ever since then he won't eat for me. And it's never been this way before. He's had like 6 dialation maybe more. Also he was doing better off reflux meds. But his surgeon gave us an evil eye when we told her he hasn't had any. Also with that his dialations haven't taken long to do.

Yeah... but they have "normal" babies. That's why I said something about tef and dialations.

On facebook. And site from like 07. And i can't get a hold of his doctor. Were military so we only have contact m-f. And i don't think his surgeon can do much

If you know there are support groups on there, I think it is time to create an account. You don't need to use your real name. You could even create a "fake" email address.

I haven't seen anyone post here about this. Good luck to you and your baby. I'm sorry you're going through this without the proper support. (Facebook might also have good military support groups to help you find the right resources.)

I wish there was more we could tell you. It sounds awful. Also sounds like you know your baby well and are following your good instincts. Wishing you all the best!

Like @virginiaunicorn11 suggested, you could use a fictitious name. Don't even feel like you have to add friends, just get on so you can join the group.

I'm sorry you are going thru this without support. We're also a military family so I know what you mean about being alone, and also about our damned insurance who forces us to use doctors that have extremely inconvenient hours. Its really a downright shame.
Regarding fb and all that, I also think you should set yourself up a fictitious named fb account. 1) because I am sure there is a support group on fb for babies that have what yours had. There's a support group on fb for everything. And 2) there may also be a spouses or families group on fb for military in your area. I have a membership to a private fb page "small town coast guard spouses group" and its not something I really ever need, but it is a nice resource. Just an example, a family moved here and their household goods were extremely delayed. They had brought a pack n play for short term but with their goods being delayed for who knows how long, she was asking where she could buy a cheap crib to tide them over, and another gal had one that her baby had grown out of and let her borrow it. Vacuums and lawnmowers are lent out for last minute cleanings before people transfer out but their own stuff has been packed and shipped already.

Oh gal, you've really had some struggles I've seen you post about. I'm sending you and your LO love and well wishes.

I'm so sorry you are going through this too! Did you try seeing if TEF comes up on any other Bump groups?

Absolutely wish that I had answers and could help more, all I can offer is some positive encouragement and support. I'm hoping that things improve for you and your little one!

The dilation has me curious if it could be a condition called Eosinophilic Esophagitis. It's caused by allergies (the biggest culprits are wheat and dairy). It mimics the same issues as acid reflux. The dilation of the esophagus has me curious if it could be EOE. My sons and I both have this condition (so I'm not a medical professional, just a Mom). Does your LO see a Gastroenterologist? If so, bring up this condition. It is rare but is being diagnosed more everyday.

He does but... they person we went to go see was out of the childerns hospital so he said he couldn't help us. And i think they are worried with reflux because of the dilating sometimes they get blood after dialation and if the stomach acid comes with it will probably burn the a lot more than it should. I just know it's really common. And he does better off of reflux meds! It's when he is taking them that he don't eat. But his surgeon gave us an evil eye when we said he wasn't on anything. But who knows. Also I have had encounters with military wives... airforce ones and let tell you, if there man is a higher rank they rub that crap all in your face and god forbid your man be higher ranking. So I stay away from them.

My life is already dealing with a lot and some people tend not to realize that, so I skip them and fb. But I'll probably look into making a fake profile.

I know what you mean, it's like that in all the services. And I also usually do not associate with the other wives around. And I personally never contribute to the page myself. But at the very least, they may share meetup type events outside of the military like programs being offered by the YMCA or give you a lead to another Dr that works with Tricare that you may like better.
