Hyperemesis

This is an awful word. I'm 10 1/2 weeks and counting down. I'm down 10 pounds and had an iv on for 4 days. I still have a Zofran iv bottle. Just waiting for this to end soon. I'm 38 and this is my 3rd. As soon as I give birth, my tubes are tied. I've never been so sick since 6 weeks. I think this is the longest my hubby has gone without sex, lol. To better and brighter days!!!!

Re: Hyperemesis

  • Were you as sick during your other pregnancies, or this one has been worse? I have pretty bad nausea and had some morning sickness, but given my nausea and the work I do, my doctor got my on diclectin pretty quickly, and it wasn't nice when I tried stopping. My little sister just had her first, and had hyperemesis. She also ended up dehydrated in the hospital, and she then ended up with kidney stones around 14 weeks as a result of the dehydration. I hope it's soon over for you!

  • I was about this sick with my first. However, it was 16 years ago, so I keep thinking this is worse. I'm on Diclegis and Zofran. I can't leave the couch or bed unless it's for the toilet. Prior, it ended between 12-14 weeks.
  • I'm so sorry! I had horrendous morning sickness my first pregnancy that lasted froom wks 5-16, it was just like you described. Lost lots of weight, dehydrated, loading up on Zofran, stuck in bed around the clock. It was debilitating. And it must be even more killer that you've got two other children to take care of!
