I'm taking my baby for her first shots Monday, and my neighbor recommended giving her Tylenol before we get there to prevent a fever from developing. I bought the infant Tylenol but it says under 6 months or 24 lbs to ask a doctor. I know tons of people do this, so my question is has anyone else done this, and what dose do you give to your babies? Thanks!
My little girl is 10lbs and pediatrician recommended 1.25ml. I gave her this amount after her shots and she returned to being my happy baby after she'd had quite a crying fit.
Same as pp, my md said not to give it before because they need to know if there's a fever beforehand. But he calculated her dose for after shots based on her weight.

Yes, it goes by weight at this age. My lo is 11 lb 9 oz and I was told to give him 2 ml if needed after shots. I would never give it before shots Bc I don't want to give him unnecessary medicines unless they're absolutely needed.
