Miscarried at 5 weeks. Can I try again this month?

Hello All,

I miscarried at 5 weeks. Actually I think it was 4 weeks 6 days. I showed positive pregnancy tests prior. I had a very heavy period this month. Can I ttc this month or do I need to wait? If I don't try this month I have to wait 4 months to ttc due to work scheduling. Please share your experiences.Ty

Sorry for your loss. I'm new to this too. Officially I'd go by your doctors advice, but if you have had one period I'd say you're good to try again. I had my d&c 16 days ago, impatiently waiting for AF so I can try again (baby was 7 weeks 2 days) and the nurses caring for me after d&c said waiting one month should be sufficient as it meant my lining had built up and shed.

My Dr told me to wait at least 2 cycles to make sure my lining was good to support a healthy pregnancy. I'm 5 weeks post d&c today and still impatiently waiting for AF. I would go with what your Dr recommends for you since everyone is different. I didn't want to wait 2 cycles right after I had my d&c, but now I think it might be for the best since I don't want to deal with the heart break again and possibly postponing a pregnancy even longer

I too miscarried at around 5 weeks and 4 days. I'm still going through the detox of it My doctor said I was good to go whenever! But I think I am going to give it a month for piece of mind and knowing when the heck to expect O.

I agree to ask your doc first.  Very early miscarriages like yours I have heard many people say they got the go ahead right away, but one month for piece of mind and a good reset wouldn't hurt.
