Baby Names

Does this sound okay? Too many G/d's?

edited October 2015 in Baby Names
Would Grady James Gordon be too much of a mouthful when the mn isn't used, Grady Gordon, or are there enough syllables to make it okay? (I'm fairly certain that's some sort of run-on sentence.)

Re: Does this sound okay? Too many G/d's?

  • I don't think Grady Gordon flows well. Maybe something like Grant, Gideon or Gabriel?
  • Big bro's name is Eli (Elijah), so doesn't have to be a G name. We like Ethan, Emmett, and Everett, I'm just trying to broaden our horizon beyond the E names.

  • I prefer Brady over Grady.
  • Although the name Grady is nms, i think Grady Gordon has wonderful alliteration! I quite like it.

  • I don't hate it. Grady is totally NMS but Grady Gordon itself doesn't make me angry or anything.
  • Grady Gordon reminds me of Gilbert Grape. Or Gilbert Gottfried. Not a super fan of the double hard G's. Like your E options though, Ethan or Everett have my vote.
  • I think it sounds just fine.
  • It's not easy to say IMO. It's not terrible but slightly awkward/ a mouthful

  • It's definitely a mouthful. It also made me say grody gordon... you may not want that.
  • I kind of like it but not sure if it makes for a comic book hero or villain... Either way I think it's pretty cool!
  • I agree that it sounds like a comic book character.  That's not necessarily a bad thing, but Grady Gordon is not my favorite, sorry!

  • I don't think it's that bad. If you love Grady I wouldn't let your last name deter you from using it.

  • I dislike the double G. Since it's mostly split here, what does the dad think?
  • I like the name, I don't think it sounds awkward at all. I don't know any Gradys, but plenty of Bradys so I find Grady refreshing.
