am I going into labor?

Today is my due date. Lost my mucus plug around 12 Pm, there was some blood in it. Then I went to a doctors appointment at 12:30. My ob told me I was only dilated to a 1. She said she did a little sweep of the membranes but Im barely dilated so she couldn't do much. Now it's 9 pm , I've been having real bad back aches, & Braxton hicks (or so I think they're Braxton hicks) on & off ever since I lost my plug. I'm a first time mom so I have no idea what to feel/expect. The back ache/Braxton hicks will go away & then build back up like a few minutes labor. But the pain is tolerable. Any opinions???

I would keep an eye on timing. If your contractions are remaining less than 5 minutes apart, lasting for over an hour, and each one is at least a minute long I would call your OB.
Bloody show is usually an indication that things are changing in your cervix but doesn't always mean labor. Good luck!

I usually get Braxton Hicks after being checked for dilation. However, I was told Braxton Hicks can start the real deal. So keep an eye on them. If they're timeable, they may be real.

Yeah you're just going to have to time them.  If they become unbearable then call and see about going in to L&D.  I've had the same things for about a week now and no real labor

With DD I had contractions that were every 4 minutes apart for about 2 hours so I headed to the hospital. I was at 3cm but not in "active labor" so they sent me home. (This was at 36wk) I continued having them very close every day for hours all the way up until my due date 4 weeks later... Unfortunately sometimes you can have contractions weeks before baby comes.. If they get a lot worse or are consistent, I would call just to be safe. Good luck!

Also keep in mind that whenever you get checked it can irritate everything. Just pay attention to your body. I had my membranes stripped Monday and had spotting afterwards that my doctor said is normal. I spotted and was horrible sore for two days after.
