My original due date is Oct. 26. However around 30 weeks baby was measuring bigger and I have been carrying extra fluid. So my doctor at the time had she would induce me a week early up not have to deal with carrying a bigger baby and extra fluid. Especially since we have had a crazy hot last two months here in So cal. Long story short, my pregnancy has been extremely easy going no complaints at physically. However now my doctor is saying she can not induce me more than a week early hospital won't allow it. My doc is on call the night of the 19th and the 20th would be the earliest that I would be able to be induced however it wouldn't be her birthing my baby it would be her partner. The kicker is my husband is being sent to work over seas the 22nd, and if my lil princess doesn't decided to come on her own soon husband will not be apart of this. I have an appointment on the 20th for my next check up, Do I express my concern again with my doctor before the next appointment? I'm just kinda lost and emotional at this point. I'm not exactly concerned with the fact that I won't have my husband with me its just that he will be away at work for 2 months and wanted to have the ball rolling on this. Any help or advice would be great!!! P.s doing all the things that are safe to advance labor. Very active still with my 4yr old DS and active in the bedroom still, just praying for a healthy baby and hopefully lily the early so she can at least have daddy hold her.
Good luck to the rest of you mamas wishing & waiting!!!
Re: Husband won't be here for Delivery. Questions
I agree with PP, the hospital and insurance rules stink. Our hospital will not induce before 39 weeks and 41 weeks for c-section for FTM, anytime after 39 for RCS. All other cases must be medically necessary.
I think the best you can do is just request the induction for the earliest possible date and hope for the best.
As for your doctor not being there--when the time comes you really won't care (short of the on call doc being awful). The nurses are the ones that pretty much run labor and delivery and the doc just comes in to catch the baby.
