I think I got mine at Target. My OB for my first child did give me a bunch of samples to try when I had my first visit, but they weren't anything different than drug store options. I just went for my annual and they just asked to make sure my PNV had DHA in them. There are sites that give a list of recommendations of what should be in there.

Should I just temp the first time I wake up in the middle of the night and again when I wake up for good?
@KASG you can get PNVs at any drug store. Most doctors recommend you actually start taking them before you get pregnant so your body can build folic acid levels. Folic acid is really important in the first few weeks of fetal development when you may not even know you're pregnant yet. There are a few previous threads on what PNV brands are best/give you least nausea/etc.

R/R/CS: Was able to resolve-ish the fight enough to BD! H had some sinus drainage so no kissing, so not sexy, and didn't get the closure of the situation as we normally do (we talk every bigger fight to death but I think that has been our strength). I had a temp dip today which is three days earlier that I thought it would be. I hope it is not O otherwise we would just have -1. We are not great with ED but if I get a positive OPK today I will try. Yesterday the second line was not dark enough to be positive and I expect today to be +. I am glad I am temping and opk so I actually know when I O but sometimes I think it would be nice to blissfully ignorant (I doubt I would ever get KU because we are a once a week or less sex couple).
GTKY--Who's your celebrity BFF? Scarlett Johansson or Kerry Washington
@KASG My CNM told me to start taking a PNV as soon as we started to seriously TTC. She told me any PNV at the store is fine, so I did some research on my own and found one I liked. She also offered to prescribe me one, but she said there was no difference in the prescription vs. Over the counter. She even told me if Ihad a hard time sswallowing lills I could chew 2 Flinstones vitamins every day - they have folic acid in them which was her main concern.

R/R/CS: My temperatures have been pretty consistent the last 3 days, don't know what that means though to be honest haha. I hope this isn't TMI (but we all share everything here): Yesterday I finally saw a change in CM since I started to track it! I don't know why I found that interesting, but sharing haha
GTKY: I would love to hang out with Jimmy Fallon and all of his friends. Not just cause his last name is my first name, but he seems cool
@dnmanocchio I don't know your story but internet hugs for you
@kasg the preconception doctor recommended me the chewy prenatal vitamins (doesn't have iron) because the regular one were making me nauseous and constipated all the time. I get the target brand and they are quite yummy!
@teamginger13 I hope everything goes well with the RE! Good luck
R/R/CS: Yay for finally somewhat of some time off. I don't have to work until 5ish tonight. So that's good. Day 9 in a row. Finally a real day off tomorrow!!!!
GTKY--Who's your celebrity BFF? Reese Witherspoon, Kate Hudson, and TayTay Swift <--- read: the only celebs I follow on Instagram
WAYD: AF is almost gone, so I'll start OPKs in a few days, and hopefully temping and BDing (see below).
R/R/CS: I'm having oral surgery today (a gum graft) in a couple hours. I'm nervous about the surgery, but I'm mostly just annoyed about how this will affect TTC this month. I'm hoping it doesn't mess with my temps, although I'm probably overthinking it because I don't even know a real reason why it would. But I'm also wondering if I'm going to feel up to having sex next week or if my husband will even want to have sex with me with my jacked up mouth, lol. I'm going to have stitches for a week and then I have no idea what it will look or feel like.
GTKY--Who's your celebrity BFF? I'm so out of the loop on cool celebrities, but I'd probably pick Zooey Deschanel because I think she is a good friend and hilariously awkward in New Girl.

MrsRo731 it is recommended to temp after you get three solid hours of sleep and temp at the same time everyday. So lets say the first time you wake up is at 2am and you go to be at the latest 11pm. It would be ok to temp at that time because you get at least three hours of sleep. Just make sure every night you are temping at that time.

@sldp123 I hope you have a quick and easy recovery! Do you temp orally or vaginally? I assume since you are worried it's orally, just make sure you don't hit the stitches with the thermometer!
@KASG I got mine at walmart. First I tried some pills but they made me really tired for some reason so I switched to a different kind that are gummies.
@KASG Our DHs need to get with the program. This is serious business. Also, I get my PNV from Target. I get the gummies because I have trouble swallowing pills. The gummies aren't bad.
@dnmanocchio I also thought the GTKY said celebrity BF. We should do that one next. I have lots of BFs.
@mkc3888 I feel ya on the sleep!!! I have debated about waking DH before I go to work and then I think wait a minute, that would involve getting up even earlier than I already am and I'm just not so sure about all that. If we get another few months into this though without a BFP, I'm not going to say that its beyond me to try it!! It would be nice if we had a better idea of when exactly O actually happens, 2 in the afternoon, 6 AM.
@Ash9614 Wow, you are a trooper!! Kudos to your positive attitude!! I hope you won't have to go through another cycle like that!
@KASG I got my PNV from Target. I would recommend taking them at night, sometimes people can get an upset stomach from vitamins. I always take mine right after dinner. And too funny about the BD, I was debating last night how our timing would play out and when to hit up DH and when we should try to HIO. I just hate the not knowing exactly what is going to happen because we had sex 2 days in a row last week and DH said he was tired on the 3rd day. We weren't intentionally doing that for TTC purposes, but now I'm like if we do it this day, CD 18 and CD 20, but I don't actually O till CD 21, that will make me mad. I don't want to tire the man out, but I am trying to get KTFU here ok??
@severmilli12 Hugs to you. I'm glad you made the appt. I'm thinking I'm going to make one for Dec for an RE. I'm not trying to waste any time and I think I will have met my deductible by then and I'm really not trying to pay a ridiculous amount of $$ for any testing in Jan. I know this is more than likely not at all how you imagined this process going for you but I'm glad that you have moved forward with the necessary steps to keep the journey moving for you. I would encourage you to also make a 2nd appt with a different RE for 2nd opinion purposes. I have a friend going through this as well and she met with 2 different RE's because she wanted to make sure that she went with somebody she trusted, felt confident in. She had night and day experiences at both offices, as opposite as you can get. So you may want to consider making an appt at a 2nd office for a 2nd opinion so that you can feel 100% confident about the direction you move forward with. Hang in there girl. My friend said she's feeling pretty good about the RE dr they are going with and they have unexplained unfertility and are going to do IUI, which the dr said he thought they were a great candidate for. So I hope you won't have to go, but I also hope that you will have a positive experience if you do end up there.
@ButterMyBiscuit He didn't!!! Too funny. This made me LOL this morning because we just talked about this. As I was debating last night about when to try to hit up my DH for getting things going and when to try to "plan" out the BD!!
@MrsRo731 One of the key things is that you want to try to get 3 hours of sleep. FF has some Q & A sections that cover this if you go under the education and docs section under the more tab. There's all sorts of info in there!!
@dnmanocchio Big hugs to you. I'm so sorry for your loss. I think you are perfectly entitled to be a little emotional today. Its so important to process the emotions you are going through and not push them to the side. I hope that you can find a happy medium of processing them though and not letting them take over. I think that is the key. If you are having a hard time, I wonder if there are any support groups in your area that maybe the hospital or your OB office would have knowledge of? Just a thought. Most importantly, be good to you.
@teamginger13 Keep us posted on your visit!! I'm sure you are anxious but I think its better to have a plan and all of your questions answered then to wonder and not know what is going on. I had posted a question on another board dealing with IF issues and one of the women had said that they went to an RE and she got an HSG done and they discovered one of her tubes was blocked. She said they could have tried for years and gotten nowhere because they would have just assumed nothing was wrong. I hope there is nothing really wrong with you guys, but I think its a smart move to make if you've been having issues. Also, I'd encourage you to make an appt with a different RE if there is one in your area. I have a friend who just went to 2 different ones just to see what each had to say, figure out who she liked better, was most comfortable with, etc. She said her experiences at the different offices were like night and day. So you may want to schedule an appt with another one in the near future before making any final decisions about moving forward.
@jhems776 glad you guys were able to work it out last night. I hate fighting with DH. Sorry you aren't feeling well!! We don't have sex that often either. I've been trying to be better about it because i haven't wanted DH to feel used and he claims he could have sex every day. But still, I've been trying to make more effort, but I could do without it really for the most part. I've been trying to figure out when we are going to do it over the next few days.
Month/Cycle: 6/ 4th month temping
CD: 16
WAYD: temping, going to start HIO tonight I think, checking CM
R/R/CS: Just hoping that I actually O this month and do so according to FF's predictions and that I'm not much later than that. While I appreciate the ability to try to plan the sex out to get good timing, the thought of tiring out DH if we have to go an extra day or 2 worries me a bit. And I need to find a happy medium for the temperature in our house, particularly the bedroom. My temp was higher than its been this AM and I'm about 110% it has to do with the fact that the AC is off and there was no air circulation in the bedroom.
GTKY--Who's your celebrity BFF? I like any celeb that keeps their nose out of the headlines and keeps their business to themselves and not always involved in drama.
R/R/CS: Thinking about calling OB about testing since I hear it takes awhile to get in. DH said he'd getting SA if we're not KU this month but I have to get it scheduled. I'm also hoping since I had surgery this year and met my deductible they might start testing before January. Doubtful I know but if I can get an apt that would be great. I'm scared though:(
Lasscher I don't care enough about celebrities to follow them!
@MNturnsVA Yes! I was JUST bragging about how well he was doing! I could tell he was going to say it but I wanted to hear it from his lips. I said, "are we doing the dirty or what?" and he said, "I just don't think I have the energy.." My mouth fell open and I said, "mark this day in history!" He got a good giggle out of it but I was totally okay with taking a night off.
@KASG I get mine from Amazon (Thorne Research) but they're not cheap. I did some research into brands because vitamins are not well regulated in the U.S. and not all brands contain the amounts they say they contain. Thorne ranked fairly high. However, you have to take three and they do make me pretty burpy. I may switch next month.

I'm feeling better today and received an email from the lady at the RE office who told me that my insurance will cover all fertility testing, just not treatment which is HUGE relief! Still hoping that I'll get KU before December and won't have to go to the appointment tho. Fx.

WAYD: Waiting for AF to leave, ready to start temping & OPK testing on Friday! Hopefully will be HIO EOD :-)
R/R/CS: Nothing TTGP-related, but H and I had yet another talk about moving down South. I'm sick of talking about it - I want action! It's all up to him to find a job down there, so I plan on putting the pressure on today - he needs to spend more time applying!
GTKY--Who's your celebrity BFF? Anna Kendrick. LOVE HER.

WAYD: All the things except OPK.
R/R/CS: I just want this on record..DH said he was too tired to BD last night. I nearly choked on my spit. But, I was totally tired, too, so I didn't give him too much shit.

WAYD: nothing for now. Enjoying my Time off temping. First time since March!
R/R/CS:
Made a post last night about big solid matter clot, I was really worried. I hate how our body can act so weird sometimes but good point AF is way more intense today. (I guess it's normal when you shed almost all you endometrial stuff all at once
GTKY--Who's your celebrity BFF?
All the cast of friends (in the show) God I love this show and I feel like I hang out with old friends when I watch it.

WAYD: All the things...
R/R/CS: Rant - what is going on with this board?!? I swear it's like ever hour some drive-by comes in asking "am I?" "should I test?"... are people just not reading the rules? I like some crazy every once in a while to keep things interesting, but honestly I don't need it all in one day. Seriously, yesterday was fully of crazies. 8-}
GTKY--Who's your celebrity BFF? This is a tough one... probably Chrissy Teign (but Jennifer Lawrence is a close #2)
CD: 6
WAYD: HIO but we haven't since AF left bc we've been so tired
R/R/CS: I want to start temping but I wake up at least 3 times a night. I know a lot of ladies recommend setting an alarm for a certain time every night but I'm such a terrible sleeper that I'm afraid to do that and be awake all night. Should I just temp the first time I wake up in the middle of the night and again when I wake up for good?

WAYD: everything with OPKs

@kasg the preconception doctor recommended me the chewy prenatal vitamins (doesn't have iron) because the regular one were making me nauseous and constipated all the time. I get the target brand and they are quite yummy!
@teamginger13 I hope everything goes well with the RE! Good luck

CD: 10
WAYD: awaiting myFW
R/R/CS: Thinking about calling OB about testing since I hear it takes awhile to get in. DH said he'd getting SA if we're not KU this month but I have to get it scheduled. I'm also hoping since I had surgery this year and met my deductible they might start testing before January. Doubtful I know but if I can get an apt that would be great. I'm scared though:(
Lasscher I don't care enough about celebrities to follow them!
