This is going to sound nuts and I didn't believe for years, but Apple Cider Vinegar (specifically the brand Braggs). I have been taking Tums all day and didn't want to keep doing that so I finally tried it. I put two tbsp. in 1 cup of water with some honey and just drank it through a straw as fast as possible... I haven't had reflux for three days since doing it. That night I didn't even sleep propped up. You can even find pre-mixed Braggs ACV drinks at Fresh Market or Whole Food stores.
I had very bad heartburn with my first, the only thing that worked and was safe was bicarb soda you can by it by the kilo and use it as often as you want. Good luck
Yep. Braggs apple cider vinegar. I dilute it down, 1 teaspoon of acv to 2 teaspoons of water. I use those little medicine dosage cups, and shoot it. I repeat the dosage about 3 times. It tastes pretty icky at first, but you get used to it. My 6 year old now asks for acv. LOL he loves the taste now too! Don't do omeprazole or any of those drugs, if you can possibly avoid them.
Mine is associated with what I eat. If I eat a lot of bread or wheat products I get heartburn. Perhaps you can take a journal of your diet and track? Hopefully you will find correlations. I figured this out when I would turn to crackers and gingerale. I would get worse; it was the crackers!
Re: Does anyone know what I can do to ease indigestion and chronic heartburn I take Tums ?
