What type of bottles do you guys use that actually have a slow flow? I'm using stage 1 nipples and my baby is downing the bottles so quick. It's giving him hiccups and gas etc.
Good Ol' playtex drop ins are my go to bottle. Cheap, easy, and easy when traveling because you can reuse the bottle and just bring drop ins and extra nipple! I have used these for bottle feeding all my kids
I got the Dr. Brown's premie bottles. They seem to be better than the tommee tippee, but he still goes thru them pretty fast. Attached is a chart with nipple flow rates.
I don't know if they sell these separately or not but I have The First Years Gumdrop bottles that came with my breast pump, and they seem pretty slow. They're slower than the Avent bottles I have. Haven't tried Munchkin Latch because I'm not sure I'll need them and was thinking of returning them . . .
I used Breastflow bottles with my son, but those are a PITA with all the extra parts.
I had to use the dr Browns Premie nipples for dd2. She would choke on anything else with a faster flow and those were all that worked for us. She couldn't even breastfeed for a while because of the flow being too much. I had to pump and use Premie nipples. Good luck - I remember how awful that was!
Re: Bottles??
I bought Phillips Avent after a friend of mine recommended them to me. They are little pricey but worth it she says!
