Omg I'm 5 wks and I'm getting nausea everytime I drink water. Anybody experience this? I'm trying to drink the recommended amount but it's getting so hard
I've been having a hard time drinking water as well. I have been trying to put cucumber in it to make it a little better. It seems to be helping a little.
If water is making you nauseous try something else. I too can't drink water right now when normally I drink a ton with no problem. I've been drinking seltzer and if it's plain doing a splash of cranberry juice in it. My doctor with my last pregnancy said that if you're having trouble getting fluids down then anything is better than nothing. They even suggested things like Italian ice, broth, etc. anything that is fluid (even if it's frozen) that will help hydrate you. Hope this helps =] I feel your pain.
Past experience is that I cannot drink water (or eat) starting 7-8 wk until 19+ wk. I take a sip of cold water every 10 min or so and try fizzy water when I am desperate. Not pretty, but doable - amazingly I have not been badly dehydrated. I do lose weight.

Every once in awhile I get nauseous after drinking water, but I still try to drink as much as I can. I'm not quite sure how much I'm supposed to be drinking, but I try to get in at least 48oz or so. I'm sure I must need more than that though right?
I had HG with my last lregnancy, and water was a huge challenge for me. Having the little flavor packets that you can add helped, also fruit flavored what, and aprakling water....basically, anything but plain water. Good luck
Thanks! Im definitely going to try the seltzer. Great idea!
^^ This will be our best friend. Even before being KU I struggled with nausea and when it hits only seltzer will work for me. I recommend buying the SodaStream machine. Saves money in the long run because you can make seltzer at home. Not to mention get the little pods and make all kinds of soda and flavored seltzer. I keep ginger ale ones handy for bad nausea days. If I struggle with nausea before pregnancy, I can only brace myself for what it will be like when it truly hits.
ETA: last year my doctor said the recommended amount is half your body weight in oz. so identity weigh 140 then you need minimum 70oz. It's a lot but when you reach it and make it a habit it feels amazing. Haven't had to use Chapstick or lotion in a while.
