Spotting?

Hi everyone, just got my BFP two days ago and was super excited!
But today I've been having spotting/brownish discharge all day - not a lot, but enough that I need a liner. So I'm pretty worried this will be a chemical pregnancy. Has anyone else had this so far? I've read that bright red blood is more worrisome, but it worries me that it's been going on all day.
Appreciate any thoughts!

Re: Spotting?

  • I had some brown staining too for my 1st pregnancy and now she's 2. I don't know if it's still possible, but maybe implantation bleeding? Hoping all is well! Maybe page the on call doctor tomorrow so you can go in on Monday for betas.

  • I had spotting starting at week 6 with my son. It actually continued on and off through my pregnancy but there was no issue! When everything is stretching out it becomes more sensitive and bleeds a lot easier. Sometimes after sex, sometimes for no reason at all! Brown discharge is typically ok, it means it's old blood.
  • I had the same thing for about 2 days following my BFP but it stopped. That was now 2 weeks ago and all is still fine.

I had brown discharge for the majority of my 1st trimester during my first pregnancy, and that little nugget is now 2 1/2. I know it's a little unnerving, and you can totally call the doc if it makes you feel better, but I think it's normal/nothing to worry about!

  • I had spotting with my daughter, and she is a healthy girl! I also had spotting with my chemical pregnancy....if you are worried, defintely speak with your dr. And get blood work if possible
  • Same here! Lots of spotting with my first pregnancy. Brown blood is old blood. I know it's hard to see throughout the day and not reassuring, but chances are it's okay!
  • Thanks everyone for your input and reassurance! I'll call the doctor on Monday to be sure too, but I feel a little better hearing your stories!
