So sneaky!!

I have a bridal shower to go with tomorrow that's all family. I know there will be booze so I came up with the most brilliant lie/plan!
I did a craft show today and my SIL came to shop (I am driving her), I told her I have had a migraine that won't quit for 2 days which is why my table was a bit smaller (part 1 of the lie. I have had all day all nigh MS for almost 2 weeks). Then I said that the medication makes me nauseous (part 2 I AM nauseous so I won't be eating or drinking anything but water tomorrow anyway). Here is the most brilliant part...
The party will start right when I have to take my B6 so when she sees me pop the half pill and wonders why I'm only taking half I can say "I'm only taking half so it doesn't make me as nauseous as a full dose". (And that completes it with part 3 where I take the pill and feel less nauseous, and my SIL buys my story because she is not the brightest crayon in the box.)
Maybe it's just me but I think this is pretty good!

I always tell the bartender to make me mocktails. My DH family is so all over me about the drinks LOL. Friday night we went out and I screwed up....someone asked do you want a drink? I go "unmm no I just had a beer at the restaurant we were at". Then ten minutes later they asked me again. I said "no I just had a margarita at the restaurant we were at". Luckily my DH was the only one who caught it! So usually I tell someone to tell our waiter to give me juice only or I have a few tiny fake sips of DH.

I had a friend that was pregnant come up with a brilliant idea...she would byob and use twist top beer cans that were drank by her husband previously and refilled with water. Totally looked like she was drinking all night. None of us knew any different until she was ready to tell.

My husband and I did this when I was pregnant with DS! I would wash them out and fill it with water. My family was so confused when we made our announcement!

We have an engagement party to go to for my BIL on Friday and I think our plan is for me to have a glass of wine but to either switch it with DH or to go to bathroom and dump some of it out. Luckily they know I'm not a big drinker anyways so if I'm not refilling constantly, it won't be a big deal.

I almost always use my own Tervis cup with a lid. No one knows what is mixed or not in the cup. I made it through a football tailgate this weekend that way. I did tell my SIL to have help keeping the secret, but she's also pregnant and I just couldn't wait to tell her!

I had a couple of big family gatherings this past weekend and I had my husband drink half a beer and then give the bottle to me, so I walked around all evening with a half-empty bottle of beer. And whenever someone asked me if I needed a drink I just said "No thanks, I'm still working on this one". Well the sight and smell of the beer at first made me REALLY tempted to drink the second half of the bottle, but after an hour or so it was warm and stale and nasty so that was perfect.

I'm still pretty sure people noticed... My family has eagle eyes, and we're newlyweds without much time (I'm in my late 30s). They kept their mouths shut though.
