Congested and spitting up mucus

My little guy is 3 weeks old (a month on the 10th) and for the past few days he's sounded really congested and our pedi told us to use saline drops along with continuing to suck up his boogies. Well today he's started to spit up blobs of green mucus along with his regular spit up. I've called the doctors office 9 times and have yet to speak to a person that had more than "ok I'll transfer you to the nurses line" to say before putting me on hold for 15+ minutes. The last 5 calls the line doesn't even ring to talk to anyone at all. Does anyone know a way to help my little guy feel better? He doesn't have a fever just really congested and spitting up mucus.

Re: Congested and spitting up mucus

  • Not to panic you, but I would take him to Urgent Care/ ER. In an infant that young spitting up green globs of mucus is concerning, especially at night while sleeping on their back.

This. I would be concerned about a blockage of some sort.
