Do you pronounce Louisa with a "s" sound or a "z" sound?

Also, any thoughts on the name? I haven't ran it by DH yet, but I think it might go well with older sister Clara.

Hmm... That's a good question. I always assumed it was Louisa w/an S sound. It didn't occur to me it might be pronounced with a "z" until I read your post. I prefer the s-ending myself. But either way it's a lovely name.

I say it with and "s" sound, but I have heard it with the "z" sound too. I like it either way!

I think I pronounce it with a Z sound actually.. Louie-za.

I say it with a z sound. Lou-ee-za. I think it's a cute name, but it's a little matchy with Clara, just because they end in the same sound.

My friend named her daughter Louisa recently and pronounces it with the "s" sound. I love it!

I also say it -za. You could do Louise instead of Louisa and it wouldn't be nearly as matchy, but I don't think it's too bad anyway.

I say it with the "s" sound and think it would be fine with Clara. I do agree that Louise is a nice alternative if you're worried about matchy-ness though.
