HCG Levels

hi,
Got blood work done last Friday at 3 weeks 6 days. My OB office called to let me know that it is at 125 but it is very early and I will need to get blood drawn tomorrow to see if its rising. All they said was that it is still early... I start progesterone tonight since that was at 10.7. I have had 2 empty sacs mc. This is my 3rd pregnancy no kids so they are monitoring me earlier. Any thoughts?

There's nothing we can tell you. I know the wait is hard, but you'll just have to have another draw. The number doesn't matter as much as the doubling factor. Good luck to you!

125 at 13DPO is good -- being over 100 at 14DPO is generally viable. So fingers crossed you get good doubling numbers!

I'm sorry your so stressed. I was there just last week. When is your next draw?

At 4 weeks my hcg was only 36. Five days later it was 454! Don't give up hope.

That level is good but as others said it's more important to analyze the rise of HCG.  Also, how do you know you were 3w6d on Friday?  Were you temping to confirm ovulation or is that based on your LMP?  You could be earlier on in your pregnancy based on actual O date - the EDD is based on LMP but doesn't factor in actual o date which can vary significantly from person to person even in a cycle of the same number of days.  Don't stress too much!

I did ovulation kit. But i am calculating based on lmp. Thanks

OPKs don't tell you actual date of O, just surges of estrogen indicating impending O -  you can get multiple surges in a cycle.  I'm going through the same thing b/c of cramping and some spotting, got my second draw today so hoping to hear tomorrow.  Hard not to worry but I think you don't have a big cause for concern. This is not accurate at all, statements like just give false hope, or undue worry. Betas can be used to identify a possible problem in pregnancy (if they do not rise appropriately), but it cannot be said that having a certain level will likely result in a viable pregnancy.
My betas are a perfect example of this. I had great betas with my last pregnancy, which ultimately ended in mc. I am now 33 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy, the first beta I got a 4 and a half weeks were below 100 (80 I believe).
Betas are a great, but limited tool, and there a huge range for normal.

Such a valuable post! Betas can indicate an early issue but absolutely cannot indicate a pregnancy IS viable.
